AI agents are about to shop for you. But who's handling the money? Shopify and Google launched the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), an open standard that lets AI agents discover products, negotiate checkout, and complete purchases across any platform, all without humans.

We're wrapping our infrastructure in UCP's language, publishing our merchant profile, mapping checkout sessions to our rails, and exposing x402 as a first-class UCP payment method. Soon, any agent using Gemini, or Shopify's commerce graph will route payments through ArisPay

What this means in practice:

A buyer asks AI to "find me a standing desk under $300 and buy for me." The agent discovers a Shopify merchant, negotiates terms via UCP, and when it's time to pay—Arispay executes the transaction, enforces the buyer's pre-set limit, and settles
