To everyone talking about equality when it comes to PMRF, meritocracy should be promoted for India to become a global leader. Complacency is not going take us anywhere. Making everyone comfortable short term would everyone uncomfortable over long run.
@KRPrasadIISc I have so seen so many PMRFs do good research and at peace. Not that others are doing any less in the top institutions. Everyone deserves a PMRF. And not like students complaining against it never wanted it.
@KRPrasadIISc Let's note overlook the number of retractions that happen in the race for rankings. Let kids have some motivation to get into a good institutions and try to do PhD with a sense of peace of mind not worrying about finances.

These countries worked their arses of when they had to get to the top and now promoting all these. Unless we do it now, we will keep missing the bus always. Again, working like a donkey doesn't help. Work efficiently during the hours you put in and honestly.
Infosys founder NarayanaMurthy has expressed his disappointment with India adopting a 5 days work week from 6 days work week in 1986.

Netherlands
Germany
Belgium
Denmark
Australia
Japan
Number of donkey hours put in has zero impact on productivity
Work Smart. Work Hard. But don’t be a donkey
While exploiting employees is definitely not right, we as Indians also need to understand the importance of work ethics and forward looking approach to develop the country. The so-called developed countries who actually support work life balance can be seen to fall back now.

A mainstream newspaper reported the govt observation that 12 dry days in an year is affecting tourism related income. Not being political, but it's concerning that the govt has to get the people drunk for revenues. High time the govt focus on industrial development for income.
