As part of the Swarna Andhra – Swachh Andhra mission, Hon'ble Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually flagged off electric e-autos prepared by the Municipal Administration Department to strengthen door-to-door waste collection across the state at a programme held in Gudivada.

On the same occasion, he also virtually inaugurated 8 Solid Waste Management (SWM) centres established in Nellore, Kondapalli, Bethamcherla, Kamalapuram, Badvel, Yeleswaram, Narsipatnam, and Peddapuram.

With people's participation and sustainable waste management practices, Andhra Pradesh continues to move towards the vision of a cleaner, greener, and healthier Swarna Andhra – Swachh Andhra.

OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP is transforming Andhra Pradesh into a cleaner, greener, and healthier state through a focused 4-week sanitation movement under the Swachh Andhra mission. District Collectors, Municipal Officials, sanitation workers, NGOs, public representatives, and citizens are joining hands to improve public spaces and strengthen community participation across all Urban Local Bodies.

The campaign begins with intensive Red & Yellow Spot clearance drives and visible cleanliness activities to restore the beauty of roads, open spaces, and public areas. The next phase focuses on storm water drains, nalas, and back lane cleaning to improve sanitation systems and prevent water stagnation. The third phase emphasizes responsible waste management through source segregation and better compliance from residential, commercial, and bulk waste generators.

In the final phase, the mission concentrates on public toilet sanitation, garbage vulnerable point clearance, and sustaining long-term cleanliness standards across Andhra Pradesh. Every broom lifted, every drain cleaned, and every citizen participating reflects the collective commitment towards building a Swachh Andhra Pradesh for future generations. Together, we are not just cleaning our surroundings - we are creating a culture of cleanliness, responsibility, and civic pride.

As part of the “Swarna Andhra – Swachh Andhra” program held in April, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu is emphasizing the “Jaladhara – Jalaharathi” theme and advancing efforts towards a cleaner, sustainable Andhra Pradesh.
With an investment of ₹603 crore, 107 modern waste processing plants will be operational by October. Swachh Rathas are collecting segregated waste from households, turning materials like paper, plastic, and metal into valuable resources, with an option to exchange waste for essential commodities.
This reflects a circular economy, where every waste becomes a resource.
