With the Inktober prompt "Injured" I decided to address the topic of Plastic Pollution again with this Whale.

More of us are trying to go plastic-free and I have personally made many small changes to reduce my single-use plastic and to consume less.

No, I am not promoting the elephant ride with this happy elephant, but I remembered the elephants looking and appearing happy. I would be much happier to see this industry stop and see more elephants in the wild.

During my two years in Thailand I witnessed Elephant rides offered to tourists.
Most tourists wants to capture the perfect picture on an Elephant ride. However, the horrible truth of the welfare and treatment of these elephants are often hidden.

I remembered my visit to Ayutthata, Thailand and I decided to use the Inktober prompt "Ride" to address this topic.
I tried to keep the elephant's expression neutral but managed to make the expression happy.

They are trained in the most awful and painful way. When you research further into this, it's quite challenging to watch.
As long as tourists demands for elephant rides exist, this industry will continue to grow leading to more suffering of elephants in South East Asia.
