Destiny 2 at 140K+ players on a weekday while most people are at work, on an update that isn't even an expansion, pacing to double Marathon's all time peak.
Sony failed with nearly every live service bet they have made.
You had a winner the whole time.
Wake up Sony.
@KnownAsSys They should have added shards sinks for the hardcore players. This would have required them putting items that would otherwise be eververse quality as a in game purchase like a cool hoverboard or something and have a new one every expansion.
@TimSweeneyEpic Maybe instead of complaining about steam market share you make a good competitive product? People would probably be willing to use a different product if it was actually good.
Food for thought.
@MTashed I think the state they are leaving the game in makes it one of those games that I would be excited to revisit. I wish they kept the live service going at the scale of Diablo 3 and had optional seasonal resets and characters. I think the hardcores would really like that.
@Mythoclast_X Burnt Peanut got shit on for a while for playing any game other than Arc Raiders and Tarkov because people just expected him to stick to the games that made him popular and would get mad when he tried to branch out. He got tired of it especially with Marathon.
@NintyPrime I think for a lot of people its just not as revolutionary of a device as the 1. The performance of the 2 just put it where a lot of people wanted the 1 to be for some games so they hit 45-60 fps. Its also not the kind of leap that the NES to SNES was or the SNES to N64.
@aakashgupta Buddy the magic mouse is not even on most of the companies radar to think there's any logic to the design at this point is wild. If you look at MKBHDs interview with Tim Cook you can tell how unaware and how little a priority the product is.
@RealPostFolder She has a hoarding problem maybe he went about it the right way but there shouldnt be compromise to this type of behavior in the long run. It needed to be addressed in some way therapy or something that situation is wild though ngl.
@wesleytypes@MegaCrit I genuinely think this is why early access while probably an important cash flow for small studios is a double edged sword for marketing.
@NikTek My guess is that they are press kit images and the reason they are leaking at all is because they pushed back the reveal date and the press likely had access to these images since before the initial reveal date.
