Well the Conservatives just found their way to abolishing the Licence Fee. Progressives hate the BBC, Conservatives hate the BBC. The BBC seems to hate the BBC. This is what happens when "impartiality" means balancing reason with the absurd and representing the worst of society
If I was worried about people comparing me to 1930s Germany, my next move probably wouldn't be to shut down all criticism on the national broadcasting service
I used to love Harry Potter. Went to every midnight release, cosplayed, was even in an HP themed improv group.
Now I’m happy to instead support & be part of fantasy narratives where ALL are welcome.
Trans community, we deserve our own better magic. I will always fight for that.
I seriously believe what is considered “polite” needs to move beyond neurotypical-only centered norms and consider what is “polite” in ADHD and/or autistic social circles, too.
"It's a story of age more than race....people didn't think black people could be British".
Ummmm...maybe older generations should be educated on why that's a racist opinion. Especially those *close to the head of the British government*.
I'm thinking this is a story of age more than race?
83 Yr old Hussey used old-fashioned language.
When 57 Yr old Ngozi grew up some white people didn't think black people could be British.
Both these concepts are madness to the young who live in a completely different era.
Like.....
...is this meant to worry people!?
How delusion and thick do you have to be to try the "Labour is a threat" attack line, considering the state of the UK at the moment. Even with the GFC, the UK was a far better place to live in...and then the Conservatives happened.
@ndnarratives Sorry if this seems ignorant. I'm trying to understand where the two overlap and want to understand where the friction is. Thanks for the information already, I will look up the original work you mentioned already.
@ndnarratives What I don't understand is where the two overlap. Is it that neurodivergent and neurodiversity have started to be used as meaning the same thing (I.e. someone who is neurodiverse is a neurodivergent) and that the term not coined by a WOC has become dominant?
This morning I presented my research on applying the Doughnut Economics model as a theoretical lens to understand the role of citizen initiatives in tackling urban sustainability challenges at the #urbantransitions2022 conference in Barcelona.
I think the most #ADHD thing I've ever done is forgetting that October was ADHD awareness month...even though I had it written down in several places...because I kept forgetting I'd written it down.
I love watching the Good Wife and the Good Fight every time @carriepreston appears. She's so clearly coded as ADHD. But is also brilliant. It's wonderful but also painful to see someone others find exhausting but recognise as good at what they do. It's quite confronting.
Oh my...This is just an ADHD-ers life - a vicious cycle of: ADHD Paralysis --> Guilt --> Deadline Stress --> Near burnout --> Relief --> Hyperfocus (on the wrong thing) --> Overstimulation --> ADHD Paralysis (repeat until death).

I now have a perfect budget (which I don't fill in), the most revolutionary plan for how I will sort the house out (I won't), and the most organised to-do list you have any seen (which isn't getting any shorter).
I'm gonna call this Gerentofication: the process of gentrification as a result of the decisions and actions taken by older segments of the population.
Whilst we're at it, forget Anthropogenic Climate Change, it's now Gerenthropogenic Climate Change.
Gentrification - a term for when young people are forced to move into lower-income areas by housing shortages in more affluent areas.
Building "luxury" (market rate) flats is unpopular and if blocked will see those young people simply buy older properties from locals.
Man loses mother, has had no time to properly grieve and ugly cry in private, gets thrust into a position of high pressure & scrutiny succeeding a beloved icon... seeing him getting frustrated that pens aren't working isn't a "gotcha". Just chill everyone. Yours, a non-Royalist.
