@MCCCANM Already seeing cabin video. Meaning someone is filming instead of paying attention. Person in front has a wonderful Tumi bag slung across his shoulder. Could it damage the slide? Sure. Do they care? Probably not. Sigh. Time to update my LCP training slides.
@SheaSerrano The Grand Illusion — not just a great WWI movie, but a pioneer in many cinematic techniques. Aristocratic officers vs. enlist. Great!
Saving Private Ryan
We Were Soldiers
Three Kings
Blackhawk Down — has to be the deepest bench when Tom Hardy is basically an extra.
@OrinKerr Does anything prevent a state from creating a new tort, bodily injury by law enforcement tort, that states that any law enforcement officer who wears a mask while on duty commits a tort on an affected individual who can recover damages for physical and emotional harm? Then FTCA.
@thenewarea51 I guarantee you it is in the contract of carriage. Most phrase it as airline reserves the right to deny boarding if your conduct, appearance, or hygiene is offensive to others.
@harvilla Rob, this was a perfect tribute. My own midwestern father-in-law passed in April and he too received a military burial (Navy, so no gun salute) for his service in Vietnam. To say you caught me off-guard is an understatement.
@MaryHogins And when the pilots accepted and took off again, they knew they had hundreds of lives on the line. 💯 no one pushed any boundaries or did anything unsafe. My speculation is that during the second go something very minor was off and the pilots decided not to take any chances.2/2
@MaryHogins I don’t have details from UA, so this is highly generalized. Every person touching the mechanical aspects of the aircraft (maintenance, pilots, flight attendants) take safety religiously. So when the maintenance person signed off, they knew they are dealing with lives. 1/2.
As we continue working with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada & the NTSB regarding the investigation into Endeavor Air Flight 4819, the following details regarding the flight crew's training & experience are being shared in order to correct false & misleading assertions.
@MaryHogins I had just walked home from school and was changing out of my school uniform when our apt in Yerevan started swaying. Insane that I still remember it.
An unfortunate & persistent problem we’re seeing is unruly passengers. We’ve already seen over 1,400 disruptions this year, including physical assaults & threats to the safety of our officers, airline crew members, & other passengers. We’re working in collaboration with @FAANews & local law enforcement to enforce stricter penalties for unruly travelers. As we approach the holiday travel season, we remind everyone to be mindful of their fellow travelers & those working hard to make sure you get to your destination safely.
@OrinKerr@BrianLeiter@StanfordLaw@BerkeleyLaw Ugh. Dislike. Of course, I'm very happy for you personally. But this is a loss for those of us in the BerkeleyLaw community. You owe me a beer.
@TheRewatchables@netw3rk So glad there was a Band of Brothers mention. I have long thought the pod could do one or two episodes of that series, which is as good if not better than most movies, lots of Heat checks, that guys, and Apex Mountain conversations.
