I switched to hand release pushups to prep for the new ACFT and everything hurt for a month. Now I have an APFT next month and I’m trash at regular pushups. So I switched back and everything hurts again. Train how we fight or train how we future fight?

I mow the lawn in my Army uniform because I'm 10% less afraid of spiders while I'm in uniform. So I'm still 90% afraid. But I'll take what I can get.
