Put an agency founder and a SaaS founder in a room and see the difference.
I bet you even if the agency founder is making more money, the SaaS founder is going to be respected more.
It's actually diabolical to me how consistent this pattern still is in this industry.
And absolutely no one questions it.
Everyone just accepts it.
And I’ll tell you why.
Because people think agencies are all about sales and marketing and not building anything.
But building distribution is what agencies are about.
Building a scalable system is what agencies are about.
Driving retention is what agencies are about.
We can only speak about it as much but how do you think we should be changing this mindset?
@i_mika_el I personally feel a lot of agency founders do not speak about numbers that much, can be NDA, can be some other personal reason but yeah we know those who do, they tend to have greater personal brands!
You can cold email nearly anyone, but nearly everyone overlooks how powerful it can be.
Sending one email each week that feels like a stretch can change your life. Will you get turned down? Sure, most of the time. But you only need one to pay off for something amazing to happen.
Take your time, write a thoughtful message, and muster the courage to press Send.
You cannot be spamming keywords and call it a strategy ;)
This is a pattern I’ve been seeing lately.
Reddit identifies that, hence the flags and bans.
The past few months looked like this for us:
> 844k impressions for a brand with zero presence in 3 months
> Took another brand to being top 5 in search results and removed negative sentiment
> No copy paste promotions but genuine usage experience posting
> Documenting and understanding Reddit tolerance policies to avoid bans.
Getting away with spam is hard.
Marketing isn’t!

Sales is the most undervalued skill.
But it actually is a game-changer.
It improves confidence, risk taking capacity and ofcourse communication.
But more than that, it makes you smart.
Smart in identifying the pain points.
Smart in identifying where the gap is.
Smart in identifying the right words to say.
Smart in identifying a rational solution.
And well this smartness makes a founder a successful one.
If you are an engineer or scientist or doctor turning to business, the first thing I would suggest is "Please go on a lot of sales calls, face rejection if necessary, but persist".
You will develop better communication skills as you realise that explaining your ideas is not so easy.
You will develop respect for sales people.
You may even become good at business!
There is no such thing as a business without selling something. Sometimes the most obvious thing has to be said!
