A Broncos win Sunday guarantees they win ANY two-way tiebreaker with New England.

Denver would win the common-opponent tiebreaker by defeating the Raiders. But because New England has completed interconference play, all of its remaining games are vs. AFC foes.

So, any future NE loss is a conference loss, and with both Denver and NE sitting on two AFC defeats, a Broncos win Sunday means that if Denver and New England both lost one more game after that, NE’s defeat would have to be a conference game, thus, the Pats couldn’t make up ground on the Broncos to win the conference-record tiebreaker (which comes before common opponents).
