@bourne_beth2345@ALALibrary So to be clear. YA stands for Young Adult right? Often this is teenagers up to 18-20 years old. There have always been books on sex and development for people at this age that teach them about their bodies and hormones as they go through puberty. Yall are so dramatic
@rady_aphrodite@_Witch_of_Aeaea@gigilarue4@sappholives83 Lmk if you see them defining gender as femininity/masculinity in a conversation w me and I’ll admit I’m wrong. I can’t recall a time I’ve ever seen it. Idk why this is the point youre focusing on
@rady_aphrodite@_Witch_of_Aeaea@gigilarue4@sappholives83 No I said I’ve only ever heard gender=sex from people who call woman a sex. Call it ignorance, I don’t frequent TERF circles girl…I hear it from conservative Christians. My point stands that woman is a social category, not a sex, and the category exists outside of patriarchy
@Kat_Wal22@ffenics@salltweets Not just self labelled as men. Also labelled by the American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association, the World Health Organization, and plenty of other medical and scientific organizations and professionals.
@gigilarue4@sappholives83 Well no, as I stated in my thread, this isnt the closest comparison to trans identity. Race is based in ancestry not identity. Nationality is more related because a white person could move to Nigeria & adapt their culture and become a Nigerian citizen, but you wouldn’t be black
@_Witch_of_Aeaea@rady_aphrodite@gigilarue4@sappholives83 That is quite literally the only definition I’ve heard from believers that gender=sex. And my argument is, I don’t use the same definition of gender which was clearly stated in my statement as well so… miscommunication can happen it’ll be okay
