When you refuse to do that and ask them to send it directly to the phonepe or gpay number, they start abusing you in Hindi. This is the state, running on scams. I have reported at least 10 numbers today.

1. It's the worst app ever. There are only scammers registered. I posted an ad today to sell a TV unit. Around 35 people reached out, and all of them were scammers. They act like they want the product, agree to whatever price you quote, they get your number.

They then send you a message on WhatsApp and ask for your location. Later, ask you for the payment options, gpay or phone pe. They say that they will verify the account by sending 1 rupee and then send a QR code when you click redirects to their UPI.
