Money paid is money paid, whether it was yesterday, a year ago or 5 years ago.
If I bought a car outright 5 years ago, I shouldn't then have payments kick in after 5 years of ownership for the same purchase cost

@Monty__1010 headline is lacking in detail...cash in a stocks and shares ISA is supposed to be invested and not just sit as cash. this closes a loophole of people leaving cash sat in the stocks & shares ISA just to accrue interest.

@ChrisMartzWX the portable units (won't call them AC) for under £200 are glorified fans. to get a portable AC unit that will actually cool a room, you're talking £400 at least. also, unless you have the foresight to buy one in winter, they're constantly out of stock
