Today is a relief. Today is occasion to celebrate. Today is the start of a new, stronger future Ars. To everyone who supported us, thanks. We’ll continue pursuing great journalism, and we hope these accomplishments will have a genuine impact throughout the industry we love.
Today, the members of Ars Technica Union are spending our lunch break supporting our coworkers at Condé Union who have walked out to urge the company to stop breaking the law, stop union busting, and stop layoffs. (1/2)
We are fighting for a better workplace and to protect our colleagues from layoffs, and we ask that you support us, and our colleagues at Condé Union, as we do so. (2/2)

.@condeunion has been waiting an ENTIRE MONTH for @condenast to agree recognize their union and finally get to work on negotiating a contract that works for its 500+ members. This is getting ridiculous.
15,000 supporters from around the world have already signed on to @condeunion's public support petition. It's not too late to add your name to show @condenast that you stand with the workers who produce the magazines and videos you love: https://t.co/l1pqFdXhyd
BIG NEWS! Nearly 80% of workers across @CondeNast and Condé Nast Entertainment’s iconic brands announce their @condeunion today. The 500+ workers will become one of the largest units in recent Guild history.
Solidarity and support for the workers for raising the bar! ✊✊✊
BREAKING: 500+ Condé Nast workers are forming a union with @Newsguild.
The @CondeUnion includes workers across all brands that haven’t unionized yet — including Bon Appétit, Vogue & GQ.
Workers are demanding better pay, job security, staff diversity, and workplace transparency.
“We love working here, and we want to keep working here. … If Condé wants to attract the best talent in the business, they have to stop relying on prestige and provide equitable pay and benefits.” https://t.co/70kUrVJ1Tc
Beyond proud to welcome the wider Conde family to the union effort. We know the benefits of collective bargaining first-hand and look forward to voluntary recognition for these shops.
We want to create a better, more equitable workplace at @condenast. So today we're uniting in solidarity to #UnionizeConde. We ask management to swiftly and voluntarily recognize our union. Find out more about supporting our union at https://t.co/uDzbIfra2H
Members of the @nyguild have voted more than 2-1 to approve the dues increase that Twitter couldn’t stop talking about, per my inbox. Move will permanently eliminate the dues cap on high earners and temporarily raise the dues rate for three years.
Happy to announce that the members of @ars_union unanimously ratified our first @nyguild union contract today!

PSA: An employer's demand to return to the office is a mandatory subject of bargaining. If you have a union, management cannot legally force employees back to work without negotiating with the union to impasse. COVID-19 is a deadly occupational disease. Bargain that shit!
