🌍How’s the erosion of Honesty&Humanity OK 🇬🇧Proportional Representation 🇪🇺@britishineurope & @the3million 🇳🇱 All Dutch 2B able to have Dual Nationality🌷
Our society is v. divided & anger is brewing; in order for all views represented & to build a fair society based on the views of the whole elect, we need to get rid of the adversarial FPTP (w views of huge %s are unrepres’d) & replace it with Proportional Representation

Well this is grim….
Rotherham Borough Council has a new Mayor.
And the Right are absolutely up in arms about the fact that she’s a Muslim woman.
And they are of course spreading vile lies about her.
So let’s just do a little sense check shall we?

What we're seeing at a local level could easily repeat itself at the next general election.
Imagine waking up in 2029 to a government supported by less than 30% of the public.
This is an emergency. We must scrap First Past the Post before it completely destroys our democracy.
Keir @Keir_Starmer do what is deep feel personal, what @UKLabour wants, best for the country and is only possible this parliament: make Proportional Representation a fact.
(Rees-Mogg 2/5/25: “Reform gives up PR when they have more success under FPTP.”)
#ProportionalRepresentation
Very well put, @libdemdaisy 💯
There is a reason why trust in politics has broken down.
We have a system that severely limits voter choice, while forcing politicians to argue instead of figuring out what they have in common.
Proportional Representation is the solution.
They want to leave the ECHR because it will allow them to abolish the State Pension, the Minimum Wage, and paid holiday and sick leave.
It would make them tens of billions a year.
But of course they say immigration, because they can't tell you the real reason.
"We're now at an unprecedented situation where 554 MPs, 85% of us, were elected with less than 50% of the voters who turned out" - @alexsobel.
Six in 10 people don't have the MP they wanted. We need a proportional system where they, too, are represented.

Thank you @Lisa_Smart for consistently speaking out for Proportional Representation.
We won't restore trust in politics without addressing the core issue: a voting system that disempowers millions of people because of where they live.
We need PR so that every voice is heard.
US pharmaceutical companies pushing up drug prices-forcing the NHS to spend more, and potentially reducing the amount of critical drugs available. We can’t let that happen.

Our NHS is not for sale. Trade talks with TRUMP must not open the door to US healthcare companies profiting from our NHS.
Keir Starmer must protect our NHS by keeping it off the table during negotiations.

When Justin Trudeau in Canada resigned, he said he regretted leaving the First Past the Post voting system in place.
I just signed a @MakeVotesMatter open letter warning Keir Starmer not to make the same mistake as Trudeau.

Hi @JohnRentoul, I read yr excellent “K Badenoch, conspiracy theorist”, but you’ve missed
“I think #ProportionalRepresentation wld be a bad idea, giving disprop. power to parties s. as Reform – as well as to extreme versions of so-called progr. forces w. are act. the opposite.”
FPTP
• Tory are in effect Reform
• Labour is too large & “Tory light”
• Tactical voting
• Wasted votes
PR gives
• precise manifesto
• collaboration not polarisation
• electoral renewal
• etc
