All Presidential campaigns should have 3 televised debates including 1 on foreign policy, position papers on all major issues and press questions or interviews every 2 or 3 days.
These elements are a fundamental part of a vigorous democracy and are not expendable.
@joebiden may regret campaigning on democracy (a goal I support). If Trump wins, he and his supporters will argue they have a mandate to challenge our democratic institutions. "They ran on democracy and lost. We ran on making government work and won." https://t.co/F4x1Veyy5V
Irina asked Yuri to stay home. But in January this year he joined the Ukranian forces - "It's my duty" he said and told her it would be okay. On march 21 he was killed by a russian missile in the Luhansk region. He was buried Friday two days ago in Kharkiv. Everyday since Irina have visited his grave-layed down on a bed of red roses, cried and talked to him while holding her arms around the soil covering his coffin. Another tragic story about life, love and loss in Ukraine 2023.

Don Bacon just suggested on MSNBC that Democrats should step up and bail them out by supporting a Republican speaker. He's telegraphing the inevitable scenario where Republicans blame Democrats for this fiasco by not compromising.
@zbyronwolf there’s an easier way for a small number of democrats to help the Rs out of their predicament. Vote PRESENT, thereby reducing the number that @mccarthy @gopleader needs. The effect would be similar to LBJs move to divide the republican isolationists
The big voter fraud cast of @GovRonDeSantis consists of 20 defendants or .00018% of those who voted in the 2020 general election. Not enough to tip the outcome! https://t.co/8efPruWHER
@dbongino This tweet displays a stunning lack of knowledge of US history. Partisan eruptions like this don’t help our current crisis of political leadership. Dial it down, Dan.
YAY! Congrats to @GSPMgwu Research Director @MBCornfield and our colleagues on receiving a "Research Partnerships on Critical Issues" grant from @APSAtweets -- so great!! https://t.co/iXMUqFAgjm #GameChanger
One other picture from @TheJusticeDept -- a mural from the 1930s from the entryway on Constitution Ave., depicting women & justice -- worth considering the long road and the miles left to travel.

NYT highlights how challenges to electoral integrity in America arise at all stages, including gerrymandering boundaries & lack of competition, the weakest step, not just issues of balloting and the count.

@kellyannepolls Is there some way I can contact you for an article I'm writing with Mark Penn. A non-confrontational interview lasting 20 minutes, no more.
That was like a vision of America as it should be — decent, truthful, committed to justice, unified in diversity. Eloquence at every point. Reality will set in, as it must. But wow.
