There is also a “willing marks” phenomenon, people who are political operations agents who are paid by whoever to go out and be a willing mark “conservative” maybe vote in @GOP primaries, whatever. I think it’s a much bigger issue especially on Social Media or in primaries.

I do think part of this may have been ideologies that simply do not care about utilizing conventional education, which are on the loose.

I think the brainwave entrainment crowd might be part of the motivation, although I would consider that a stupid and inappropriate approach.

I am not really part of the whole “wilderness ideology” anyways.
There is a lot more to rural beauty than just wilderness. Coppiced orchards have a beauty of their own, as does farmland, or the large and prosperous peasant family.
I think orgs like the Sierra Club can miss this.
