EPIC FAIL. The major music labels in America failed to protect their artists and the future of their own industry. "Spotify is not really Swedish or a music company at all" https://t.co/r4GupjdhEl via @RollingStone
I can't think of another time in history where an entire class of workers were eviscerated by corporate greed. And a government sat by an allowed it to happen over a 20 year period. Shameful. https://t.co/M94rH9KZBw
Because Youtube and others have ignored the severe financial damage they have done to artists and their ability to protect their work from unauthorized, uncompensated use, there is no alternative other than government mandated regulation.
@jessevondoom @aweissman @cheriehu42 The reality is Google and others built major parts of their revenue, imagine an "information only internet", by taking advantage of a loophole in the DMCA that allowed them to steal hundreds of billions from individual artists and the entertainment industry.
Can you believe anyone in Silicon Valley? "Apple, Netflix, Spotify, and Yandex told the Times they were unaware that Facebook granted them such broad access." https://t.co/MQz32IWjuK?
