Framing the Future: The Political Case for Strengthening the Visual Arts Ecosystem
Backed by the APPG for Visual Arts & Artists, it makes the case for bold government action ahead of the UK Spending Review.
Today, the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Visual Arts and Artists convened for its first meeting of 2025.
Key discussions centered on the findings of the 2024 Artists’ Earnings and Contracts Report, presented by Dr. Amy Thomas and Dr. Arthur Ehlinger from the @UofGlasgow, exploring how the visual arts and artists can be better supported and fairly paid.

🎤 DACS will be at the @LondonArtFair tomorrow, on the panel ‘Protecting Creativity: Intellectual Property rights in the art world’.
Christian Zimmermann, DACS Chief Executive, will be joined by art world and art law experts in a discussion about the importance of supporting the future of creativity through protecting artists’ rights and intellectual property.
The panel will include an overview of copyright, moral rights, and resale rights for artists, proactive steps artists can take to protect their work from infringement and the importance of enforcing IP rights internationally. It will also highlight how valuable it is for artists to protect their copyright and pay, and how organisations, such as @an_artnews and DACS, can support this.
