The version written very successfully emphasizes the point "you will be the hero of your own narration even as you enable genocide and feel very certain you have no better option than to enable genocide." But when would that lesson ever be relevant?
I think people misascribing csa to disclosure day are, funnily enough, making the same mistake freud made with the seduction theory, that is imagining csa as the only explanation of repressed memories and psychosis and as misatributing fundamentally what trauma actually is.
@halyconelement@VIDEOMANCER The center framing in the oddessy is not for reels, it's to have a good focal point in the imax. It was simmilar in oppenheimer
@TripleAAAkers7 Watchmen is a fundamentally humanist book and Snyder is a very inhuman storyteller, preferring myths and legends of epic proportions over a person's own complicated inner and social world.
@QiaochuYuan The Freudian abandoning of the seduction theory was not because he was interested in a cover-up (at many points in time he does affirm that such a thing happens) but because he comes up with an alternate theory of trauma
Ari Aster's next film βSCAPEGOATβ will reportedly follow a surgeon operating on a Jake Paul-inspired character who dies during surgery.
The surgeon then faces scrutiny from his wife and brother, reportedly inspired by Erika Kirk & Logan Paul.

@lukeisamazing I haven't looked into it much up to this point but has any theologian pointed out how adam and even couldn't have known that what they did was wrong because they still don't possess the knowledge of good and evil. That always seemed very base to me.
Maybe not that but I do think Spielberg captures how pkd usually just gives up the sci fi to just talk about religion a lot. They are simmilar in that sense though dick's religious beliefs are way stranger to me.
the Minority Report short story is so much better than the Spielberg version. every PKD adaptation except Scanner Darkly refuses to portray the protagonists as the insecure, pathetic losers they are!
Can we go back to talk about werner herzog now?
Mostly his films and images not his person and biography.
He's had a very interesting life but I want more discussion of his films especially the lesser known ones.
Maybe when bucking fastard comes out.
