It is situated on top of a mountain in the Dahuk Governorate and is known for its unique location and historical significance. While it is challenging for the city to expand significantly due to its mountainous setting, it's not entirely accurate to say that it "cannot grow and expand."

The city has a rich history dating back thousands of years, and its mountainous location has contributed to its strategic and defensive importance throughout history. Amadiyah's elevation of approximately 1,400 meters above sea level has made it a prominent landmark in the region. However, like many ancient cities, modern development and infrastructure have made it possible for the city to grow and adapt to the changing needs of its residents.

So, while the mountainous terrain presents challenges for expansion, it doesn't mean that the city cannot grow or develop in any way. Like other historical cities, Amadiyah has evolved to accommodate contemporary life while preserving its unique character.
