8th graders did a gallery walk and then wrote a reflection about two paintings for hw. They had to include the key info, similarities and differences, their opinion of the paintings and something they would โstealโ from the artist(s).
3rd graders learned about mindfulness from the book I Am Peace, by @peterhreynolds. Then they practiced being calm and focused by creating zentangle ATCs. โ๏ธโฎ๏ธ
After practicing their ripping and gluing skills for a few classes, kindergarteners learned how to cut with scissors and began creating collages with a wider choice of colors. Their collage skills are blowing me away!!! โ๏ธ
Then, I asked students how using a fork or toothbrush might be different than a paint brush, or what marks they could make with a q-tip or toothpick... check out what they came up with!! ๐ด#arted#stretchandexplore
After watching a video about abstract artist @heatherday, students added different materials, like watercolors, Sharpie, colored pencils and pastels to their work.
4th graders learned about Vasily Kandinsky, then created paintings to describe sounds. Each painting describes a different type of musicโclassical, jazz, bluegrass and techno. ๐น๐ป๐บ๐จ
