100 km of the Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway is now open to traffic.

With the commissioning of the 25km Bethamangala–Baireddypalle stretch in Andhra Pradesh, motorists can now drive nearly 100 km of uninterrupted, access-controlled expressway from Hoskote to Baireddypalle.

The new stretch also improves connectivity beyond the expressway. At Chittoor, travellers can seamlessly access the Chittoor–Thatchur Expressway, which has been fully drivable from Chittoor to Uthukottai since May 1, 2026. From Uthukottai, the Chennai Outer Ring Road provides a fast bypass into the Chennai metropolitan region.

In Andhra, while work on Bangarupalem to Gudipala is complete, Baireddypalle-Bangarupalem stretch is still not complete.

Full expressway, including the Tamil Nadu leg, targeted for completion by December 2026 (doubtful?)

In Tamil Nadu, we have approved ₹1,427.61 crore for the construction of a 4-lane Thiruvarur Bypass on the Nagapattinam–Thanjavur section of NH-83, spanning 14.9 km, along with 2 additional ROBs on NH-129A & NH-134A.

This strategic project will strengthen connectivity between key industrial hubs like Tiruchirappalli and Coimbatore with the port towns of Karaikal and Nagapattinam, boosting regional economic activity.
The bypass, starting from Adiyakkamangalam–Thandalai, will pass through key locations including Athipuliyur, Andipalayam, Kidaramkondan, Pallivaramangalam, Perumpugalur, Elavangarkudi, and Anaivadapathy Colony, among others.

Once completed, it will significantly decongest Thiruvarur town, reduce travel time by approximately 1️⃣5️⃣ minutes, and enhance road safety by diverting traffic away from densely populated and commercial areas.

The alignment will also improve connectivity to SH-23, SH-65, and the revered Thyagaraja Swamy Temple, contributing to both infrastructure development and ease of travel in the region.

Lessons I learnt from the Tamil Nadu Election results today.

1. It is not necessary to campaign hard every day for weeks together.

2. Booth Agents are not always essential to mobilize voters

3. A powerful manifesto is not required.

4. Political experience is not needed.

5.. Experienced advisors are optional.

6. Meeting the media or taking questions from the press is not necessary. (I thought it was)

7. Money does not always buy votes.

8. Massive ad spends don't get results.

9. Prominent local candidates with clout aren't necessary.

10. Caste is getting to be much less of a factor.

Will these revert in later elections or has a decisive change been made?
