Jammu City experienced an unprecedented 248 mm of rainfall in just 9 hours by 5:30 PM, setting a new all-time record for the IMD station.

The previous highest 24-hour rainfall was recorded back on August 5th, 1926, at 228.6 mm.

Rainfall breakdown:

•11:30 AM: 20 mm
•2:30 PM: 133 mm
•5:30 PM: 248 mm
