For the last 15 years, I've always had one dream and desire which was to make Indian history interesting for everyone.
In that time period, I have tried writing blogs, long-form posts, stories and threads, to do exactly that.
Some worked, most didn't. But with every post, I always had this nagging question.
Why is Indian history always taught with a tunnel vision. Why is it so fragmented?
Why do we always learn things from the perspective of one empire, kingdom, king or invader.
Why do we never see an all India view of history?
I mean most of us struggle if we are ever are asked this question
1. What was the true extent of the Mughal Empire at its peak?
2. Who were the Cholas' contemporaries in North India?
3. While Muhammad Ghori was fighting the Second Battle of Tarain, who ruled Thanjavur?
4. While Harsha ruled Kannauj, who ruled Assam?
I have always wished there was a simple way to see the political map of India for any year in Indian history.
I have always wished there be a place where
1. One Could Select any year and instantly see who ruled every part of the Indian subcontinent.
2. One could Discover the important events that happened in that year
3. One could select a time period, say 1700 - 1947, and see how the Indian subcontinent evolved in that period.
4. How did one tiny red dot in West Bengal, from a tiny red dot in Europe, somehow came to rule an entire subcontinent of 400 million people,
For years, that idea remained just an idea and a dream because
1. I didn't know how to build a website.
2. I couldn't afford to hire someone who could.
Then Claude Came along.
Thanks to generous support and heavy lifting by Claude, over the last few months, that 15-year-old idea is slowly transforming into a reality.
And today, it has reached a position, where I'm excited to share with all of you, the first sneak peek of https://t.co/6ph2s9Zzl9
It is my attempt to create an interactive historical atlas of India that lets you travel through time and explore the political history of the subcontinent, one year at a time.
This is my attempt to make history interactive and fun.
I'd love to hear what you think.
The Congress party could have chosen any other day for its rally at Palace Grounds. Instead, it chose the very day thousands of students are appearing for NEET.
As massive traffic disruptions choked Bengaluru, many students were delayed, some reaching exam centres in panic and having to plead with authorities to be allowed inside.
Thankfully, examination authorities accommodated them and provided compensatory time.
For weeks, Rahul Gandhi has been shedding crocodile tears over students and examinations.
Had his concern been genuine, his party would have avoided holding a mega political rally in the heart of the city at the exact time of one of India’s most important entrance exams.
Students deserve sensitivity, not political theatrics. Concern for students cannot be a slogan in Delhi and an inconvenience in Bengaluru.
AS THE G7 CONVENES. LET'S COMPARE WEST VS NON-WEST GROWTH. HERE'S HOW THE BALANCE OF ECONOMIC AND PURCHASING POWER IS CHANGING.
1) 2025: OVER ALL GDP
BRICS ROUGHLY $28.8 tn
G-7 ROUGHLY $ 52 tn
The gap remains large in nominal-dollar terms, but BRICS has grown much faster. Since 2010
G7 Growth: 57% BRICS Growth: 146%
2) The GDP gap is shrinking
In 2010:
BRICS GDP = 35% of G7 GDP
In 2025:
BRICS GDP = 55% of G7 GDP
That's a remarkable narrowing of the gap in just 15 years.
3. BRICS already leads in PPP GDP
According to IMF-based estimates:
2025 PPP GDP
BRICS+: $80tn
G7: $59 tn
PPP measures what economies can actually produce and consume domestically. It is why China is already the world's largest economy on a PPP basis and India is third.
4. BRICS contributes more to global growth. Over the last decade:
China and India alone have accounted for roughly 40-50% of global GDP growth in many years.
Most G7 economies have averaged 1-2% annual real growth.
5. While BRICS is catching up in economic scale the G7 still dominates in economic prosperity. The average G7 citizen is much richer than BRICS counterpart.
The Chief Minister is trying to intimidate Vice Chancellors for attending an RSS programme. RSS is not a banned organisation, and no university rule prohibits VCs from participating in its events. If the government believes a violation has occurred, it should act legally instead of issuing threats. These statements are nothing but an attempt to appease Jamaat-e-Islami and SDPI while targeting a nationalist organisation that has served the nation for a century.

🇺🇸 US: Diesel
🇨🇦 Canada: Diesel
🇦🇺 Australia: Diesel
Major economies run double-stack freight trains, but they still rely on diesel because standard electric lines can't clear two-story trains.
But instead of settling, India custom-built a 7.5-meter high-rise grid. Today, India is the FIRST and ONLY country on Earth running double-stack containers on pure electric power. This is the scale of transformation happening under the Modi govt.
"No European country has been attacked with Indian Weapons... So Keep that in Mind"...!!!
I think Europe was not expecting that answer from Minister @DrSJaishankar 👏
Cannot make this up.
TMC leader Brahmanand Chakraborty found by police hiding under a pile of sarees in Howrah, not far from Kolkata.
Accused of taking “cut money” in exchange for govt housing scheme benefits.
Indians are not "one of the lowest" beneficiaries of US government benefits, they are THE LOWEST beneficiaries per capita of government benefits.
Indians are not "one of the biggest" net tax contributors in the US economy, they are THE BIGGEST tax contributors in the US economy.
One of the most powerful symbols of India’s unbroken civilizational continuity!
Discovered at Mohenjo-daro in undivided India this steatite seal, about 4,300-year-old, shows a seated figure in yogic posture (widely seen as Shiva-Pashupati) seated in Mulabandhasana, surrounded by animals.
While ancient sites may lie across modern borders, India remains the living custodian of this heritage. The yogic posture, Shaivite symbolism, and spiritual ethos seen in the Pashupati Seal continue to thrive in India’s temples, daily worship of Shiva, yogic traditions, and cultural life even today.
From the Vedic period to contemporary Bharat, this civilizational thread has remained alive and unbroken — deeply embedded in our philosophy, rituals, and collective consciousness.🇮🇳

Congress and Mr. Jairam Ramesh must clarify whether the same principle applies in Kerala as well.
Is Election Commissioner Ratan Khelkar appointed as Secretary to Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan as a reward for allegedly helping tilt the election in favour of the Congress?
Mr. Rahul Gandhi must answer — did your party win in Kerala by influencing the Election Commission?
Is this appointment a return favour?

Kerala CEO Ratan Kelkar also appointed as Secretary to Congress CM.
Hello @PreetiChoudhry no tweet today saying he was responsible for Free and Fair elections?

Kerala minister names announced .
Hindu majority state but minority in representation
Out of total 21 ministers (including CM) just 9 for the Majority community
OPTICS WILL BE DISSECTED. "INCLUSION" WILL BE CHAMPIONED. But consider this: The proclaimed "secular" IUML hasn’t given a single ministership in kerala to a non-Muslim.
This will be conveniently glossed over. CONVENIENTLY.
Days after DMK MLA Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin spoke about eradicating Sanathana Hindu Dharma on the floor of the legislative assembly, TVK MLA Thiru VMS Mustafa came in support of Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks. Not only is this very unfortunate but also it shows the level of hatred they harbour in their minds towards an eternal Dharma that helps us to lead a meaningful life!
DMK & TVK, in their very short history, have proven to the people that they are two sides of the same coin. DMK has forgotten what their constant attack on Sanathana Hindu Dharma has brought them to. TVK will also soon remember.
If either DMK or TVK had the courage of conviction, they should have openly declared during their election campaigns that targeting Sanathana Hindu Dharma would be central to their politics. Instead, they hid behind secularism & theatrics, only to reveal their true intentions after seeking votes from the very people whose faith they now insult with arrogance and impunity.
Please be reminded, Sanathana Hindu Dharma is not your punching bag! I sincerely hope their remarks will not go unpunished by our people.
#BREAKING: After DMK, now TVK MLA makes atrocious statement against Hindus - Sanatan Dharama.
VMS Mustafa (TVK MLA and Founding President of Tamil Nadu Muslim League - “Sanaatanathae Ozhika Porondaan Kallatthulla Erangirukom” (To eradicate Sanaataana is why we have descended.)
"Campaigns are decided by whether military actions achieve political objectives. In Operation Sindoor, the sequence of events makes that outcome clear: an initial tactical setback gave way to a campaign in which the Pakistan Air Force was increasingly outmatched, India established air superiority over key sectors of Pakistani airspace, and conducted precision strikes across the operational depth of Pakistan. That, not the opening hours, defined the war."
@ShashiTharoor So the Christians elected a Muslim and the Muslims elected a Christian
Also the Hindus elected a Muslim
But nowhere did the Muslims or the Christians elected a Hindu
