Maggie Haberman cooked up a story that Trump is skipping Ground Zero because they won’t let him give a speech.

Trump just smashed it.

Ground Zero is a SOLEMN ceremony.

Nobody speaks. He’s been there. He knows that. He never even thought about giving a speech.

He’s going to the Pentagon because he’s a featured speaker there. That’s it.

This is the same reporter who won a Pulitzer for the Russia hoax. The same paper still getting sued. She made it up, they printed it, and now they’re trying to turn September 11th into another hit piece.

9/11 is about the victims and their families.

The pandemic excuse is dead. The votes kept coming anyway.

Congresswoman Priya Jayapal is facing censure for repeatedly breaking House voting rules by proxy-voting for California Rep. Maxine Waters.

Proxy voting was allowed during the pandemic and discontinued in 2023. Jayapal has still voted for Waters 14 times in the months since Waters was last seen on the House floor.

“It’s a common practice that was made official during the pandemic,” Jayapal said. “Now it’s just a common practice again.”

Hiding a colleague’s true medical condition is one thing. Using her House ID to vote for her is another thing altogether.

🗳️ NEW JERSEY'S REAL PROBLEM WITH THE USPS BALLOT RULE

USPS is NOT verifying citizenship or determining whether someone is eligible to vote. Get that nonsense out of the way because no matter how many times they repeat the lie, that's not what's happening. It's amazing how reading comprehension takes care of that smack.

Here's the REAL problem: New Jersey itself has to create the list of "eligible" voters. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOESN'T CREATE THE LIST. NEW JERSEY DOES. The list has the voter’s name and address, the unique barcode on the outgoing ballot envelope AND the unique barcode on the return envelope.

In other words, NJ is creating the record of who it is issuing ballots to, not the Feds and not USPS, and those records can be kept for five years. NJ is petrified of how this plays out! Example: Fred Smith is on NJ's voter rolls and gets a mail ballot. He votes by mail with that ballot. A paper trail is created:

Fred Smith → address → ballot issued → outgoing barcode → return barcode.

Two years later, perhaps an independent audit determines Fred Smith wasn't eligible to vote. A USPS ballot barcode didn't discover Fred couldn't vote, BUT that paper trail is a serious problem. NJ ITSELF supplied the information showing that it erroneously issued him a ballot, and a (future) independent investigator has irrefutable proof that Fred did indeed receive a ballot and mailed it in.

THAT is the significance of this whole thing. This isn't t the "voter suppression" BS line they are claiming. They are losing it because this system takes an ineligible name on NJs voter rolls & creates an independent record if NJ actually issues that person a federal mail ballot (and it gets worse if that person actually votes.)

Hmmm...where have we seen ineligible voters actually voting before?

NJ itself alleges roughly 6.6K people who told MVC they were NOT U.S. citizens were registered anyway. The state's latest review says about 5,100 were removed, 1,450 were blocked pending further review, about 340 newly registered through the error voted & another 220 affected people with voting histories "required further review."

Keep in mind, those are New Jersey's numbers. The same state that bungled this mess is now investigating itself, while calls from the @NJAssemblyGOP & @NJSenateGOP for an independent, bipartisan investigation with subpoena power have gone nowhere. So yeah, we're apparently just supposed to take their word for the size and scope of it.

And hot damn and Hallelujah! Here comes a system that could preserve a five-year trail showing whether NJ actually issued federal mail ballots to ineligible voters! Ouch. THAT'S WHY NJ IS FIGHTING IT. This is a little too transparent for @GovSherrillNJ's "transparency" doublespeak. This is why the @NewJerseyOAG, @njassemblydems
& @NJSenDems are flailing about with this.

Ask yourself: Why is NJ fighting the creation of an independent record based on information NEW JERSEY ITSELF supplies?

Easy. It's a record that could be used in a future audit to determine whether this state issues mail-in ballots to ineligible voters.

Maryland Hispanic public-school enrollment is falling for the first time in years — and officials are already pointing at Trump and ICE.

There’s just one problem:

Maryland’s overall enrollment also declined, and state officials have admitted they don’t have data proving immigration enforcement caused Hispanic students to leave.

Maybe before turning every education statistic into an anti-Trump talking point, Maryland should figure out where the students actually went.

Rome handed out free grain to 40,000 citizens in 73 BC. By 46 BC, Julius Caesar found 320,000 people lining up for their monthly ration. That eight-fold expansion happened in under three decades, and it shows you how welfare states actually grow.

No Roman senator stood up and announced a plan to addict a third of the city to government bread. It happened incrementally, through political competition. Each magistrate who wanted votes expanded eligibility. Each expansion normalized the next one. The citizen who once considered the dole shameful eventually expected it, then demanded it, then organized politically to protect it.

This is the core mechanism free market thinkers have identified across every era: once you create a transfer program, you create a constituency for that program. Recipients vote. Administrators build careers. Grain merchants who supply the state develop a stake in keeping the contracts flowing. The political economy locks in.

Caesar, to his credit, actually cut the rolls back to 150,000 through verification audits. It was one of his more economically coherent moves, though the Senate still murdered him. His successors quietly let the numbers climb again.

What did the dole require? Massive grain imports from Sicily, Sardinia, and Egypt, organized through state logistics at state expense, funded by taxation and conquest. When the conquest revenue dried up, the obligation remained. Rome had written a check against future military success, and future military success eventually failed to arrive.

The lesson is not complicated. Distribute a benefit and you distribute dependency. Distribute dependency and you distribute political power to whoever controls the distribution. The grain dole didn't weaken Rome overnight, but it made every subsequent reform politically impossible.

🚨BREAKING: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is calling for an end to pensions for Members of Congress.

DeSantis has stated that congressional pensions should be eliminated. He noted that lawmakers already have access to the Thrift Savings Plan (a 401k-style defined contribution plan) and that the additional defined-benefit pension is an outdated perk.

DeSantis himself declined the congressional pension when he served in the House.

The proposal would put members of Congress on the same footing as most Americans, who no longer receive traditional pensions in the private sector.

A straightforward demand for equal rules: no special lifetime pensions for politicians after just a few years in office.

We are statutorily required under the “DNA Fingerprint Act of 2005” to receive and process collected DNA samples from federally convicted offenders, arrestees, and non-U.S. citizen detainees.

These samples are required to be sent to the FBI Laboratory Division (LD) for processing – we get around 50k a month. This literally solves crimes across the country, like unsolved homicides, mass shootings, sexual assaults, and other violent offenses.

There had been a massive backlog at the FBI Lab for decades. On August 1, 2024, the pending DNA backlog for these samples was over 1.81 million, literally breaking federal statutory requirements. A typical example of institutionalized bureaucracy from prior leadership that left crimes across America unsolved.

When we got here, we changed it. This FBI dedicated more resources, more equipment, improved IT systems, and used business analytics for DNA processing.

TODAY - that DNA backlog is officially at ZERO.

Just more evidence of the monumental and necessary changes made by this FBI. Thank you, FBI Lab Division.
