@ParityInclusion I voted as “Required”.. to the best of my thoughts, that this day needs a celebration while the equality between the gender should normalise and we are getting there.. I as an individual is surrounded by five “SUPER WOMEN”.. my mom, sis, spouse and two beautiful sharp Daughters!
@LaxmiChar@rmaikkara@ParityInclusion@arvindnag My experience has been that because of mandate there is at least woman on the Board .very few companies go beyond the mandated composition . I believe that being 50% of the population we need more women in positions of decision making to move the needle . #AloofAllyAdvocate
@bangaatul@LaxmiChar@ParityInclusion Interestingly in a recent convo (for a study) we had with a father who works in a manufacturing org : he said he encouraged his daughter to study mech engineering and said he would proudly urge her to join his org! So there are some manufacturing orgs that are grt role models!
@ParityInclusion@arvindnag Women have to stop thinking they will be successful at a new job only if they are 100% ready or trained , a new job is a new learning for anyone ! We have equal chances to succeed
@LaxmiChar@rmaikkara@ParityInclusion I see this loud and clear and need to gap down, All of this is being preached high at the corporate on being inclusive while we / i as an ally has been and should continue to bridge this up. #SpeakoutrStepUp
@LaxmiChar@ParityInclusion#SpeakOutStepUp#AloofAllyAdvocate Yes very much true-
There could be X reasons for the same like physical work - Odd working hours - night shift - probably the limitd area of working but yes it starts from parent side only, as most of the parents don't see a safe career
@LaxmiChar@arvindnag And it’s a genuine reality. Women cannot be expected to be superwomen - so, while women have to know that they are fully capable, others have to take up their fair share at home.
@LaxmiChar@editorsahiba I agree and this is every where around a workplace. We/ me as a leader is to show the path on what it takes to get there and make it a fruitful career for the women across. Quoting many women leaders getting there while work and personal life is well balance.
@LaxmiChar@ParityInclusion Not really, if one fills the criteria should just go for it. As a manager.. should get a notification that one has applied and its all a journey with constant connect building ones developement plan
@ParityInclusion IJP is ones opportunity to move forward and me as a leader would be more than happy to help/ mentor/ coach the women team member to take it forward. I will be an advocate to make it happen with right skill and attitude to the new role (lateral/ vertical) move
We are glad to see so much enthusiasm around the Women And We Men Tweet chat, and excited to start the chat in next 15 minutes! Let's have a great conversation.
