Website: “Notify me when in stock” option
Me: “great”
Email from the website a minute later: “The item you want is so in-demand we can’t keep you up to date with stock levels”
Watching the footy with @ITVX on a moving train is certainly…an experience. Do they not do adaptive bitrate? And I can’t rewind to see the penalty both me and Messi just missed
Been with o2 for over 20 years, since the days they were still rebadging old BT Cellnet boxes. But enough is enough. Increasingly poor signal locally and in many regular places means time to swap.
(Still a great brand design by @LambieNairn back in the day though)
@jonabuft Annoying you can’t choose to just get the breaking news one on the app. I’d had enough a few months back and turned off sounds so at least I’m not prompted to look at the phone. If they keep going I’ll turn it off entirely.
@Se_Railway Thanks. The website says the trial is only running until the end of Feb 2024 so just wanted to make sure it would be continuing into next month.
@jbaileytv@virginmedia@O2 5G in the car a few miles away is amazing. I’d almost pull over and just work from a lay-by 😀
I’ll look into Three too cheers. PAYG would be good as generally VM are ok. It’s just that when it does go down it tends to be for a while.
Can anyone recommend a pay as you go mobile broadband provider as a backup? @virginmedia has been down for almost a day and @O2 phone reception at home is terrible so I can’t even hotspot any more.
@Stephen_Neal@virginmedia A great setup Stephen! Heard good things about Ubiquiti.
When we were doing work on the house I asked them to throw some cables upstairs so the box room has wired (albeit only cat5) + HDMI, which was handy for the TV capture card
@Stephen_Neal@virginmedia It’s the Superhub so I think it would have to be into modem mode and a new router. That’s not a bad idea though as the WiFi has never been great
@Stephen_Neal@virginmedia Wish I’d gone for a sim iPad as that would have been handy, I don’t have a spare phone. Wonder if I can find a cheap one to have ready in a drawer
@virginmedia Yep latest update has it as 4pm fix. Not sure why I got a “great news, we’ve fixed your services” text earlier. The TV has now disappeared too.
VM is normally pretty good but I rely on it for WFH so feel I need a backup now
@eon_next Hi Peter, I always see a variation on the image below. There seems to now be a couple of smart readings listed in the history, but it's saying "58 days since your last reading".
And yes, all the attachments through the online account under "View your messages"
Not sure why I got the email @eon_next? I'm on SMETS1 and haven't had a smart reading since switching to you.
Also, none of your attachments in the Messages section on the website are working, hosted on https://t.co/B6XXAoqjyw... "SignatureDoesNotMatch"
