Mixed use development. We were appointed by a firm of chartered surveyors & planning consultants to design and obtain planning approval for this scheme on the site of a former petrol station. The accommodation comprises a small supermarket & 10 flats, including amenity & parking.
Friday evening went to topping out ceremony of friends’ amazing former bungalow conversion in Portishead. New steel & glulam frame with SIPS panels. Designed and being self-built by John Cook (with a little help on site).

Our client kindly sent us some photos of our standing seam zinc extension project, five years on and in much sunnier weather than the original shots. The mature planting has drawn the extension into the garden emphasizing the original lookout idea.

Interesting recent TGR seminar by Scott Boote of Studio Agnos re. the benefits of structural stone: lower embodied energy than most materials, stronger, more easily processed, visually pleasing so can be exposed. Cantilevered stone staircases have been used for 100s of years!

Former gas works stone-walled coal shed has steel portal frame with steel & glass roof inserted. Then into this inserted a series of different spaces constructed from CLT.
