While the US could successfully invade it would be virtually impossible to occupy. Long supply lines would be very susceptible to counter attacks.

@theolddude76 @tomgreenlive Agricultural and dairy tariffs are laid out in the trade agreement that trump 1.0 signed with Canada and Mexico. They only are applied above the quotas specified in that agreement and rarely imposed. The steel and aluminum tariffs were implemented after the US imposed theirs.

@guyverhofstadt Canada doesn’t need to join the EU, however Canada, the EU, GB, Aus and other liberal trading countries need to meet and work together to send a strong message that they will not be bullied on fair trade. The US has made it clear, they no longer will honour their own agreements.

@JeanCharest_ Canada needs to quickly move to being fully independent of the US. Build the pipelines and refineries in Canada, increase defense spending but not necessarily on US border security. Lower tariffs on other countries to lessen the shock while we adjust to the new reality.

@JeanCharest_ Unfortunately, it is clear that the US can no longer be counted on as an ally. The America First/Alone policy prevents us from having agreements that we can trust will be honored. Moving to placate Trump will only encourage additional threats as we've all seen.
