Skepticism of corporate marketing and AI boosterism is always warranted, but I think the folks who accused Anthropic of overrating Mythos should check out this post by Mozilla developers indicating that the Firefox team fixed more security bugs in April using Mythos than in the past 15 months combined.

Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change — all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.
Massive energy transformation underway: Indonesia legislates its commitment to go 70% renewables by 2035 through its Electricity Supply Business Plan, a huge leap from today (renewables only at 16% of electricity mix)

Heavy trucks in China:
>2020: 99% of new trucks ran on diesel
>First half 2024: Electric trucks at 9.2% of new heavy truck sales
>First half 2025: Electric trucks at 22%
>August 2025: 28%
>By end of 2025: 46%
>2026: 60%
China’s electric trucks already cutting oil demand by the equivalent of more than a million barrels a day

Battery storage has been transformative for California:
>17GW installed, up 13 times in 5 years
>50% share of US market
>Helping state avoid rolling blackouts
>Together with solar, eliminated 37% of fossil gas use on grid

Florida, have you noticed our "cool" season is shrinking?
With the prospect of a sub 70 degree near Tampa on Sunday/ Monday, it's worth mentioning that our first sub 70 degree morning arrives much later than it used to by about 5 weeks!
Back in the 1950s/60s/70s we'd see our first sub 70 degree day in late Aug and early Sept... but now - on average - we have to wait until early October. This makes our "cool" season much shorter (the same impact happens in Spring)
Why? Simple. It's climate change - both locally due to urban build up and also greenhouse warming, heating both the Gulf and Florida. More heat is trapped and less escapes into space.
Bottom line: Less "cool" season!
In 1985, Carl Sagan told Congress that continuing to burn fossil fuels will increase global temperature, cause climate change, melt glaciers and ice sheets, and cause sea level rise. Imagine if we had listened to him them.
No time to wait. #ActOnClimate#climate
Let this be a call to action. It will get worse. There are simple solutions. Solar, wind, batteries. Deploy them. Solar and batteries keep dropping in cost. They’re now the cheapest form of energy in the world and they’ll get cheaper. Vote! #climatechange
NBC6's @JohnMoralesTV is the longest tenured TV meteorologist in south Florida. When he gets this serious, this emotional, on the air, viewers pay attention: https://t.co/iiECZ8KaHx
Historic: In 2024, emissions are highly likely to have peaked then decline - because of the amazing surge in solar worldwide, driven by China most of all, and because renewables stepped in to meet rising global demand, also driven by China

Here it is, in his own words: proof he and MAGA will take away our freedoms.
Trump and his weird MAGA henchmen have to be voted down this fall. Either he loses or we lose American democracy.
This year democracy is on the ballot, and if we are to save it, we must vote against authoritarianism.
Here Trump helpfully reminds us that the alternative is never having the chance to vote again.
