@wholemars FSD: let me set an increased follow distance at higher speeds. 3 and 1/2 car lengths at 80 mph is too darn close anywhere except maybe Los Angeles.
@MitcheIl B.S. Data centers take enormous acreage, hundreds for a small one. And doing any kind of significant negotiation with a municipality usually takes many months to a few years.
@max_gagliardi I live in an area that seems like it's nothing but edge cases: unpaved curvey rough roads, snow 9 months of the year, deer and elk, cattle guards, high winds. FSD handles it all. Navigation needs improvement, as well as pothole avoidance.
@willis2004000@wholemars Almost no other automakers do any post facto improvements. If I want the latest and greatest from BMW I got to buy a new vehicle. That's kind of how it works.
@MobofJoggers I live in an edge-case rural area. Unmarked Lanes on gravel roads. Unclear speed signs. Ignores yellow advisory signs for slower speeds on turns. But largely LOVE FSD.
@viccyball@niccruzpatane BS. 100% of my first first 50 mi in my model y were FSD through nasty construction zones, Lane switches and other things in the salt lake area, and it performed perfectly. Remarkable.
@BarackObama@NASA Yes Mr. President, it was inspiring, but it did feel a little outdated to have a rocket launch that did not include the boosters coming back down to earth and landing upright. Dumping them into the ocean seems wasteful today.
Robert, today we got our first snow in Emigrant, Montana since we got our 2026 model y performance. It is remarkable, but today I took over to slow down because it was trying to go 65 in a 70 with an ice packed road. My experience told me to go about 45, and several vehicles behind me just stayed back there apparently judging the same.
@mikepat711 Mike, I'm 2 weeks in with a new model Y. the FSD works great, the problem is me. I still am very nervous, particularly at highway speeds. How long does it take to get over the sweaty palms?
Tesla Hustle! @elonmusk I have a Model Y Perf in cobalt blue due in the next few weeks. Just got a call at 6:40 on New Years eve saying I could get a black one if I wanted it sooner. But I would have to take delivery tonight! I live a six hour drive away: 🙁 Great end-of-the-quarter hustle. I told the nice young man that I am glad that I'm a $TSLA shareholder.
@chamath@nytimes@nickshirleyy County Highway, the newspaper/magazine edited by David Samuels and myself, broke the Somali fraid story nationally on Nov 12 in an article by Armin Rosen. Look it up. Go to our feed. You should subscribe and so should everyone else.
