Great read for any of my brothers and sisters of any faith group struggling on the topic of worship to God

“It’s like Israel is now so evil, so untouchable, that there’s no point of contact you can have with it, just like there’s no point of contact you can have with the KKK or Nazis. And once you’re in that level of irrationality, there’s no conversation to be had.”
Sami Hamdi is free and in the air, on his way back to his family, alhamdulillah. Here's a message he shared before his departure:
"I am profoundly grateful to my family, my legal team and every individual in the global community who prayed, protested and refused to be silent. Let the record show: I broke no law and posed no threat. My only 'offense' was speaking the unvarnished truth about the genocide in Gaza.
“I am departing now, voluntarily, to reunite with my loved ones, not because the U.S. government ever established a credible case against me. This detention was a stark demonstration that a Muslim journalist can be held captive because extremists, amplified on social media, seek to weaponize state policy against inconvenient speech.
"This is not merely an injustice against me, but a searing indictment of any nation that claims to uphold free speech, a free press and the right to due process.”

A question for American officials in Washington or at embassies abroad regarding Sami Hamdi.
To readers: Even if you’re not especially interested in Sami Hamdi, and usually follow topics like #Grammy, #Kendrick, or #Orban, I invite you to take a moment to learn about his story.
Soumaya Hamdi, the wife of pro-Palestinian commentator and journalist Sami Hamdi, told Al Jazeera that his detention by US immigration authorities poses a threat to every American citizen and visitor to the country.
𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 ☀️
Today marks the ninth day my son, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐢 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐝𝐢, has been detained by 𝐈𝐂𝐄 — simply because some people didn’t like his ideas.
Your country calls itself the 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝, yet my son is being punished for expressing an opinion. Isn’t democracy and freedom of speech supposed to be your core value? Isn’t this what separates the U.S. from North Korea or the old communist regimes? 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭-𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞?
My son is a law graduate, journalist, and political analyst. He has nothing but his thoughts — yet he is locked up in a detention center in California as if he were a criminal. Those who disagree with him are free to debate him. So why are they campaigning for his arrest and deportation? 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞?
BREAKING: a federal court has temporarily blocked ICE from transferring British journalist Sami Hamdi out of California. In a ruling, the court also recognized that there are “serious questions” about whether the government illegally detained Sami in retaliation for his exercise of free speech and scheduled a hearing to address his case further.
This important first step follows legal action by @CAIRCalifornia, @MLFA and immigration attorney Hassan Ahmad, whose motions argue that the government has violated the First Amendment's guarantee of free speech for everyone on American soil by arresting Hamdi under pressure from anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian extremists opposed to his criticism of Israel's genocide.
CAIR-CA met with Hamdi in detention earlier this week. He was in positive spirits and expressed thanks to all Americans speaking up for free speech and human rights.
“This is an important first step,” said CAIR-CA CEO Hussam Ayloush. “The court has recognized that this case raises serious constitutional concerns and has acted to ensure Sami cannot be quietly moved away from his lawyers. The fight continues for his freedom and for the protection of free speech for everyone.”
ON SAMI HAMDI AGAIN
I want to start by asking this: is it fair or reasonable to judge my son — journalist & political commentator Sami Hamdi — only by a single video from a source linked to Mossad?
Please listen to the video below & share it if U can.
Sami needs Ur solidarity.
If you’re interested & have the time to know more, please read this:
Sami was born in 1990 in London and holds a Master’s degree in Law from SOAS, University of London. He is the founder and editor of the online magazine The International Interest. He is married and a devoted husband & father of three young children.
Sami loves football and supports Arsenal. He is friendly, tolerant, and has friends from diverse backgrounds. He is also a gifted speaker, often invited to share his insights at international conferences and on major media platforms.
He has no criminal record and is not affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood or any other religious or political group. Yes, he is outspoken about the ongoing genocide in Gaza — but he is far from alone in that. Almost every human being with a conscience feels the same.
Sami summed up his politics and worldview in a tweet pinned on his account:
“Humanity can easily discern right and wrong. Racism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, genocide, and war crimes need no explanation or definitions for humanity to recognise them and stand firmly against them. I believe in humanity and the natural good that exists in human beings.”
Today, in addition to being detained and facing potential deportation by the US government, Sami is the victim of a smear campaign aimed at defaming his reputation and blocking his entry into the United States
To Americans in particular, I say this:
Dear Americans, you are better than deporting a journalist for holding an opinion you could easily challenge with your own.
Remember: free speech is enshrined in the First Amendment of your Constitution — and your government publishes an annual report on freedom of speech and human rights in every country.
If America truly stands by the principles it promotes around the world, then it must also protect those same principles at home. Silencing a journalist for speaking his conscience undermines the very freedoms that define your nation.
Let fairness, truth, and humanity — not fear or political pressure — guide your judgment.
An update on Sami Hamdi,
1. Sami felt quite unwell today, and his requests for medical attention were initially turned down. After efforts by his lawyers and his family, he finally received medical help at the detention facility. Some brothers visited him just now, and they said he looked better, alhamdulillah.
2. Sami’s lawyers have successfully received a federal court ruling that prevents the administration from moving him to a far-off state within the US. Crucially, they recognised, there are ‘serious questions’ about whether the government illegally detained Sami to curtail his right to free speech.
As it stands, Sami's immigration hearing before a judge will be on 10 November.
Please take some time to tweet about a British journalist Sami Hamdi l, held by ICE who was one of those brave voices for the voiceless in Sudan
