@sarahliucifer I liked this part the best, actually, because I think it’s so true. Even if someone doesn’t worship a God, they’re not belief-less. Everyone has an “anchor” system, something that gives them a sense of security, whether it be family, friends, a hobby, a pet, etc. #laylit20

@stephanie_xyn Yes! The narrator is even skeptical in the beginning, and says that this feeling of happiness “shouldn’t be cashed in on,” but he’s shut down by Lew who argues that happiness isn’t a bad thing and that they could all be millionaires. #laylit20

@aking_dididindu (2/2)...coming to pray with Muersault before he’s killed. Then, the line “death is no different whines at than withstood” to me means that everyone is going to die whether we like it or not, which sorta reminded me of how Meursault eventually accepts his death. #laylit20

@aking_dididindu For some reason, when reading this poem, I was really reminded of the last scene of The Stranger, when Meursault comes to terms with his death. In the poem, it says that religion tries to soothe people’s fears about death, which reminded me of the chaplain...(1/2) #laylit20

@R_Ofori @sarahliucifer (2/2)...share in Pi Ying’s enjoyment when Kelly sacrifices his son and even cries when the boy is sacrificed. And, of course, she stabs Pi Ying to death. So even though she’s small and young, she is very strong/defiant. #laylit20

@R_Ofori @sarahliucifer I agree. The only other female character is the girl by Pi Ying’s side, and though she is described as “young,” she has some strength. In some ways, she defies Pi Ying. Kelly sees some pity in her eyes when he begs to keep his fam out of the game, she doesn’t...(1/2) #laylit20

@CappabiancaMeg JFK is also rumored to have had many affairs (Marilyn Monroe, for example) and to have slept with many women besides Jackie O (his wife) which kind of reminded me of Billy and all the women he turns into Nothingheads. #laylit20

@zhack999 @VoiceAdam4 @yashage_lit I also agree. In the beginning, Newt’s speech is described as a little shy and unsubstantial, even if the topic is really important to him. So I agree that he might just be really bad at expressing himself, rather than untrustworthy. #laylit20

@AlyssaGoldstei5 (2/2) I think he wants to be there for Fiona to repair their marriage. The last page even says that they were talking in the dark as their “marriage uneasily resumed.” So though it will be difficult, I do think this is a step in the right direction for their marriage. #laylit20

@AlyssaGoldstei5 F&J both hurt each other, and Jack was clearly hurt when she told him she kissed Adam. But like Sydney said under Yash’s question, I think Jack is more focused on living the rest of his life with Fiona in love and forgiveness, rather than bitter disagreement. (1/2) #laylit20
