Could…could I be a pro coach?

Doing some research for Nations Cup/Worlds on Dupr, and you now have to PAY for Dupr+ to get unlimited profile views. I get trying to push Dupr+, but this ruins what has previously been a great resource for tracking player histories (especially those who primarily play overseas)

After watching the men’s final, it’s so clear that the top 4 men’s players in the world are Ben, Gabe, Hayden, and Fed. Amazing play all around.

@MohawkMikeCats It was live but they also have the replay up, look up Hong Kong Slam. Not sure why isn’t wasn’t on PBTV

Anna Leigh seemingly confirms she is dating somebody in the pickleball world. This may be the first time she’s talked about it 👀

Ben Johns has lost 4 men's doubles tournaments in a row.

I went through the Hong Kong final point by point, and the numbers don't lie. It's not that he's playing bad. He's playing safe. And right now, safe isn't winning.

We also got Christian Alshon mysteriously withdrawing with zero explanation. He was warming up at the venue. Then gone.

Oh, and we need to talk about Harry Brown's mustache. Serious journalism only on this channel.

I breakdown all this plus more in today’s recap 👇

[Ash | PB @AshAshPB]

@VeronicaCa84492 I know who it is

[Ash | PB @AshAshPB]

@MohawkMikeCats It was on YouTube

[Ash | PB @AshAshPB]

Do we know why Alshon pulled out of Hong Kong? All I know is it wasn’t an injury.

[Ash | PB @AshAshPB]

@chriscantino I haven’t broken the top 30

[Ash | PB @AshAshPB]

@DBRPickleball I saw one tournament was charging $100 for one event. And that was a little local one. Definitely too expensive. I remember when it was $30.

[Ash | PB @AshAshPB]

I’ve noticed less amateurs playing tournaments due to wanting to “protect” their DUPR rating. I remember when people would play a tournament every weekend and not worry about their rating, they just wanted to play.

@bondamfels He has not said, but is posting cryptic things on Instagram. Or I guess his social media manager is posting the cryptic things?

@Cortright_ok I played in a 4.5 against a 2.5. It was awful

[Ash | PB @AshAshPB]

@Cortright_ok Yeah I don’t like the “you can play up in rating but not down”. But also when is it appropriate to move up to the next level? Can a 4.4 play 4.5?

[Ash | PB @AshAshPB]

@JGelvar 100%. But some clubs require you to have a certain Dupr to play leagues. So if you need a 4.0 Dupr to play a 4.0+ league and you’re at let’s say a 4.1 Dupr, you would be scared to play a tournament and not do well in it. Because then you wouldn’t get to play in your league
