Several Indian publications are playing with words, reporting that Nepal is asking India, China and the US to pay for flood damages.

It's not. Two separate things are being conflated here.

1. Nepal's Finance Ministry has formally requested support from the UN's Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage — designed at COP27 to help vulnerable developing countries offset damage from disasters caused by climate change. This is the first time Nepal has sought assistance.

2. Nepali officials in recent days are making the broader argument that the world's largest historical emitters bear responsibility toward vulnerable countries like Nepal, whose own emissions are negligible. That's an argument about cumulative emissions, structural vulnerability, and what climate justice requires. Nepal is not asking for a check for last week's disaster from specific countries.

The ghost gun ruling focused on the kit makers—not waiting for a finished weapon, but regulating those who made it easy to assemble one. Could similar reasoning apply to AI toolmakers if their products are built to easily produce risky or harmful content?

@ShirajPokharel @Rajivd @rkwagle @sauravD @baralsujan The leagues seem more top heavy in investments than the EPL. The better teams in the other leagues are better than the top teams in the EPL. But if they in turn get challenged less en route to a league title, maybe?

@ShirajPokharel @Rajivd @rkwagle @sauravD @baralsujan No. Not the way the leagues are today. I believe the EPL has a higher premium on trying to get the clubs to be more equal than not. Juventus has won the past six titles I think. I do not believe it is an apples to apples comparison.
