@Adam_Lucente@AlMonitor@roscarroll_ Oh ok. The major incidents in the ME in recent years has been (1) the genocide in Gaza by Israel and the Western world, (2) the war on Iran by Israel and the US, (3) the war on Lebanon by Israel and the US.
@spencerpratt Bill Maher is a creepy old man. Have you seen his podcasts with young female guests he brings on? He most definitely should get an ass whooping.
Luke Thomas on Scott Galloway’s exchange with Abdul El-Sayed:
Scott Galloway is trying to hold on to some kind of idealized version of Israel. And in order to maintain that fiction he has to deny the humanity of Palestinians and he has to deny the criminality of the government of Israel.
Long-term, you cannot make common cause with these people. We cannot make common cause with people who either support genocide or are unwilling to recognize it, even when there’s overwhelming evidence to do so.
@eternallyRaq Her point is that from the outset it appears it was a cynical ploy to get support from the pro-Palestinian movement. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t. I think her underlying point is that he compounded this tactic with the mistake of keeping J. Tisch. I agree with this point.
@bluedoggeosh Imagine if we didn’t pay for weapons for a foreign country involved with genocide, rogue state actions and getting us into forever wars. Billions of dollars saved and our reputation as a warmongering nation disappears.
@dlLambo@mamoun_linda Palestinian journalists need to be rewarded. They are the real heroes and produced all the raw material for these investigative pieces.
@guychristensen_ Perhaps, perhaps not. Correction - she is campaigning for / with him. He is not campaigning for her election. As much as I’d want pro Palestinian politicians to be putting genocide complicit VPs to shame. Perhaps it’s not their role to do that.
@WalshFreedom Yeah because we kinda knew what Israel was going to seeing that it is a rogue, apartheid and occupying state stealing the land, food, water and air of the Palestinians.
When Abu Bilal built a secret wall in his home to protect his precious books from Syria’s former Assad regime, he didn’t know if he’d see them again.
15 years later, with the help of a hammer, he was able to recover them.
@Yael4Hanover The US cannot base its foreign policy in the middle-east and elsewhere on the placing the primacy of Israel’s position in the world and its expansionist policies. How about this?
@jonironbeard@OzKaterji The wisdom of starting or not starting a war is not in discussion. America has started wars only to lose financially / militarily / politically. What do the Lebanese have? What do the Palestinians have as people who can fight?
@paulrubens Pretend it’s 1948. Give me a plan to not subjugate and displace the local native population in Palestine and supplant them with European Jews following the holocaust at the hands of other Europeans. Good luck!
@ZedSoxs Sounds good, agreed. Same with Israel, right? Israel has bombed and occupied Lebanon and killed thousands of Lebanese people through many years. Surely, no one should support Israel too, right?
