Asher Spence (@asher_spence ) delivered a championship performance at the Jam On It Memorial Day Tournament, leading LA Select to the title with a dominant all-around showing. The 6'3" Class of 2027 guard exploded for 40 points while adding 7 rebounds and 4 assists, reminding everyone why he is one of the most explosive young guards on the West Coast.
Spence is the type of player who can completely take over a game because of his ability to score from anywhere on the floor. He is a dynamic three-level scorer with a lethal shooting touch, a quick first step, and the athleticism to finish through or above defenders. His combination of speed, bounce, and crafty shot creation constantly puts defenders in difficult situations. Give him space, and he can rain in shots from deep. Crowd him, and he can get downhill in a hurry.
What stood out most was how he controlled the flow of the game. Spence was aggressive when opportunities presented themselves, unselfish when defenses collapsed, and relentless in keeping pressure on the opposition. He did not simply score points. He dictated the action, created problems for the defense on nearly every possession, and played a huge role in bringing home a championship. Performances like this continue to show why Asher Spence is a name college coaches should know as his stock continues to rise.
