@taxpreptech I have a client whose child was fraudulently claimed on another return and she texted me the SS card. I originally thought the child was compromised through the 2024 Medicaid breach, but I suppose now it could have been anywhere. π«
Keep my little sister and her kids in your thoughts and prayers. Some reckless idiot was driving too fast and put her in the ICU with a very serious traumatic brain injury. (Kids weren't there and are unharmed.)
@jasonc_nc The first time I heard of this idea was an article stating how much money a company saved by asking farmers to let their animals graze under panels instead of the company hiring lawn mowing services. I was wondering when it would become an official business plan.
@broadwaybabyto My husband tries so hard to be a proper Christian and he is appalled at this country. He's got multiple verses highlighted about charity, compassion, and the less fortunate to smack people with. He particularly does not like rabid Trump supporters.
@ThatPHCBoy - Quit first karate dojo due to Vietnam veteran / Baptist deacon pinning me down and groping me. (I do BJJ, I know the difference between combat and SH)
- Fired from a restaurant for not bedding a customer.
- Fired from HVAC shop for not letting boss's son pull my hair or hit me.
And then all his papers are printed out in a nonsensical chaotic order, so I have to put his returns into a coherent order so I can even see what's going on to begin fixing things. No pride in his work at all!
The local charlatan who gets most of his clients audited charges $100+ more than I do, and people storm out of my office saying I charge to much to go to him then later get audited for a fraudulent return he filed that I then have to fix for them. UGH.
@KyPeterson5 I have not struggled to that degree, but pretty dang close, and so I do understand. If I could control how my portion of my tax dollars were spent, I'd have double or more go toward helping the needy. My life is bad enough. I don't want others suffering worse.
@leahfrombklyn I've been reporting physical abuse, neglect, and abandonment for years. CPS is just letting my kids collect hospitalizations from their addict father. CPS is a joke.
@taxchic_k I have some show up 45-90 minutes early and don't understand that even if somebody else is not parked outside that doesn't mean I'm not working on a drop-off or something just as important as them.
@GoodVibePolitik I have been shocked but unsurprised at how many MEN are gloating about "single mothers going hungry". A little insight into how those women became single mothers.
@broadwaybabyto Just normal bully syndrome. They hate the elite too, but the elite are bigger than them, so they pick on what's smaller than them, which is the impoverished. It's shameful, cowardly, and they're too unevolved to realize toxic animal behaviour.
@solarystix What's even scarier about that is during our grandparents' and great-grandparents' time it was commonplace to have a garden. We're generally packed like rats and don't have acres for gardens.
@chapwerain Oo, if true, then I like that idea better. I don't know what their stock is. They do. Let them buy what they need instead of having 18 cubic feet of only pinto beans.
@unMaskedRogue If anybody bothered to look, all brands are about $0.68-$1/oz. Local chicken here is $0.20/oz, ground chuck is $0.43/oz, steak $1.56/oz. The guy said he's in a wheelchair and doesn't have a stove, so the >$1/oz difference for meat is worth it for his health and housing situation.
@SoupOfToday@tallsnail That makes more sense! When my kids were little, I had the big goofy checks/vouchers. I got very excited to see recently that it's been upgraded to debit cards. Much more discreet for already stressed parents.
