Social and Emotional Learning takes many forms at Ashford School. Today third and fourth graders communicated emotions with Tanglewood Marionettes through @HOTSchools. We are proud of our strong arts and arts integration and to be one of the few HOT Schools in Connecticut.
@polareducators It's getting cold in Ashford but not too cold for our young polar scientists in third and fourth grade. Their wooden boats will be deployed in the Arctic this winter. Learn more about their experience: https://t.co/hGNRhkRqH2
Second and third grade students collaborated with HOTS Teaching Artist Gerald Moore of "The Game" and explored the intersection between art and science.
Thanks to HOT Schools and @AFLConnecticut our 7th and 8th graders learned about scale, rotations, reflections, and translations in their math classes with shadow puppetry facilitated by Flock Theater.
Thank you Senator Gordon for meeting us and our German @gappexchanges students from @Rheda_Wiedenbru at the Capitol today. And, thank you Senator @MaeFlexer for arranging the visit and even taking our picture!
Thanks to @QFIntl the Arabic classes collaborated with the Eli Whitney Workshop to learn about Egypt through a woodworking project. We can't wait to see how they turn out.
A bigs thanks to our PTO for bringing @karimnagi to our school. And many thanks to @TCLProgram for brining Arabic to our school. Today the middle schoolers learned (and tried out) several instruments from the Arab world.
