@vrindagrover@zoo_bear Not so worried about the money..
but very very scared for all the students out there who're getting scanned, marked, profiled and filed off for posterity in govt databases... 😢
Their whole future is at stake...
This is utterly appalling. Even in the days of the JP Movement leading up to the Emergency, there was no bar by the @UnivofDelhi on students joining any of his protests, and a couple of members of my Union Cabinet at St Stephen’s, including the late Chandan Mitra, openly did so.
If one of India’s foremost public universities is allowed to threaten its students and faculty with significant consequences if they attend a protest, it has a chilling effect on democratic speech and expression. Most DU students are not so privileged as to ignore such a sternly-worded warning without fearing that their academic or professional prospects might suffer if they attended the protest.
A university is meant to teach critical thinking and independent assessment of issues, not to stifle these very qualities. Shame on those at the @UnivofDelhi who saw fit to issue such a tweet. They are unworthy of holding any position at an institution of higher learning in a democracy.
@VishnuNDTV@gauravsabnis Well well @VishnuNDTV that sure touched a raw nerve!
But guess you're doing what conscience allows, are at peace with and your family is proud off!!
A lot of your admirers like us may have dropped off on the way, but that doesn't matter... 😉
@ARShukla01@maheshperi@iitroorkee Absolutely disgraceful coming from what used to be a top class institution @iitroorkee
Students not allowed to have political discourse?
Tomorrow employers come up with similar guidelines for its employees.
Who can have political discourse?
Only unemployed jobless adults? 😂
@ms_medusssa@RURALINDIA Yes. Mainstream media is virtually irrelevant now. Only the 60+ still see/read it I suppose.
But @IEhindi has surely surprised me for its on ground reporting yesterday!
@manaman_chhina@rwac48 Yeah... and Yesterday it was Central Delhi... With all the digital and social media reporting the atrocities virtually live so we all got to know.
It was frightening to see the violent methods used by the State and it's machinery to suppress the students on a peaceful march. 😢
@RanaAyyub CJP just became the platform for the huge underlying rage. None of the existing CJP team seem to have the skills to lead this...
It's young inexperienced founders seem completely lost with what they've landed up with and the responsibility thrust on them to lead this! 😉
@SidKeVichaar@DilliDurAst Has been for a long time. Who watches them now anyways? 🤔
YouTubers/Insta reporters and digital channels are what people are watching now!
@RURALINDIA@airindia@AkasaAir Delhi-Bombay is an overcrowded sector. So perhaps empty.
Number of Flights to smaller metros have already been drastically cut 30-50%, and fares are up atleast 20% but flights seem to be going full!
@kaul_vivek@TheIndiaForum When countries can live on perpetual debt, why can't individuals?😃
Debt ceiling and payback time comes very quickly for individuals, but corporations n govts keep borrowing/printing money!!
The world of finance is unfair where rules of debt are made by the big borrowers!! 🙃
@neeleshmisra Ev'one makes errors. Rather than being petty and focussing on past misjudgments here; for his extraordinary courage, conviction, determination and dedication to the cause of our young and their future, @Wangchuk66 deserves credit and all our + your strong support!!
@MarioNawfal People at large I think are not comfortable with FREEDOM. They like to be chained. Surveillance by the State gives people at large, a false sense of security.
Why else would they agree to cameras, face scanning, digital payments, tracking tags and what all?
@TuckerCarlson
@sakshijoshii@ranjona Moment opposition parties begin lending support to the CJP, everyone will jump on to discredit the movement at Congressi! 😃
@RahulGandhi knows that well so has been intelligent n careful to not frontend any support and let this continue as a civil society/students agitation.
