This is my daughter A beautiful, happy girl who went to India and got ill. She never got better, has been rejected, insulted, forgotten and dismissed by Drs and hospitals, just like many other daughters. My heart breaks for her and I’m so proud of the woman she is despite it all
The narrative that #LongCovid is 'mysterious', nebulous, untreatable etc is sustained wholly by a lack of ambitious biomedical treatment trials. There will be therapeutics that exist that can significantly alleviate disease burden. It's a matter of trialling enough to find them.
@BinitaKane @K8Stott@long_covid@Helen_Oakleigh Nattokinase & Serrapeptase please, any relevant research around it, doses, time of day for taking them and any anecdotal evidence :-)
@collectivedairy I bought 2 of your dairy free pouches from @Tesco Edinburgh this week and my CMPA 9 month old son loved them both... then projectile vomited several times. I thought nothing of it until I saw many others in a CMPA support group reporting the same thing. #crosscontamination?
A 10-min stand test is a cheap and easy test that should be performed on every #LongCovid patient to identify whether #Dysautonomia is present. Pictured is a @Jacobs_Med_UB med student who shadowed me today doing the test. I am hoping she and others become interested in #autonomic disorders: with millions of people experiencing #LongCovid and post-Covid #Dysautonomia, we are in dire need of MDs trained to do this work. However, there are very few of us in the country who can even show the students what and how we do it. Adding autonomic disorders to the medical education curriculum and residency training in #neurology, #physiatry and primary care is the key!

I dont think people realize how much discipline living w #LongCovid takes, especially if you were previously a go-getter type. We have to constantly stop ourselves and say no to things we want to do, because they will make our symptoms worse. We have to miss out on life to live.
On Wednesday 15 March 2023 #LongCovid advocates from around the world will come together for International Long Covid Awareness Day.
There is strength in numbers. Let's make sure we get heard.
#LongCovidAwarenessDay
@NohaAboelataMD During one of my recent hospital visits, I was told I had to take off my N95 and put on a hospital surgical mask sitting on their desk... I explained that my own mask was much more effective and the said it was hospital policy! So I put theirs on top of my N95 🙄😷😷🥴
On this eve of the new year, I wish you a blessed and healthy 2023. My wish for you, if you are suffering from LongCOVID or ME/CFS; or if you are caring for someone, is to never give up. A special shout-out to all my #TeamClots collaborators - you all rock! We will not give up.
A new #LongCovid nationwide study from Scotland w/ matched controls, 6-18 months follow up, showed 6% no recovery, 42% had only partial recovery, with "poorer quality of life and wide-ranging impairment of their daily activities which could not be explained by confounding"
@Rara30585698 Research are not treatments. They are management techniques and strategies. How can people be so confused by this. Extremely poor from @guardiannews@guardian
