#residentphysician @mayoclinicfmr, PGY2. called to geriatric medicine, with a focus on dignity, autonomy, quality of life. ever optimistic. views are my own.
When talking about our agendas for the day, I told my 5yo I was a little nervous about a meeting I have today. He said, “Mama, I am nervous all the time. I know what to do.” So friends, here is all the advice he could fit into the drive to school:
Never would have thought I’d spend a rare day off of residency duties analyzing an ICU patient timeline, the deterioration index correlations to a failed extubation and ICU delirium protocols… thank you @ogi_gajic and @MayoPCCM for inspiring me to be more…
#familydoc learning more of the #CriticalCare aftermath as I prep not just for research into that checklist… but even more the care of my patients who have #survived the #MICU.
1/ An uplifting #holiday story: @ashleymaree20, a family medicine resident on my MICU team designed a unique “recovery milestone checklist” for one of our sickest #COVID19 patients. Enthusiastically filled by the staff, it not only ⬆️recovery, but ⬇️#burnout in these trying times
A patient gets Infected by Jamie, an unvaccinated healthcare worker, and ends up in ICU.
Months later, with his wife, he writes this letter to Jamie.
#PrimumNonNocere#FirstDoNoHarm

@Natalij37428263@Dr_SRKashyap There are customizations for this specific patient (we received permission to share). I’d recommend customizing for each patient as this had a great impact on mine. However, we are going to work on making a more general and widely usable version in our QI project.
@mohammaddhiyebi @ogi_gajic@iceman_ex Please use this! I and I know the family this was made for would be greatly honored to help others, especially across the world!
@MayoClinicFMR@MNFamilyDocs So happy to be a part of the Family Medicine family, and THRILLED beyond words to train at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and Kasson!!
