Ontario is awash in free Covid rapid antigen tests, and they are turning out to be an absolutely crucial tool this fall.
I’ve seen many patients use them as risk reduction tools to quickly catch Covid outbreaks at home, and then protect/treat vulnerable family members.
NEW: A group of Ontario parents is raising money to challenge the Ford government in court in an attempt to bring back COVID-19 protections amid high case counts across the province.

@logansherrie2@anewkindasomet1@ONSchoolSafety One-way masking can reduce risk for the person wearing a mask (https://t.co/6ab30qBTsV). But masking works best when everyone wears one (https://t.co/6ZrbTVcbGv ). Universal masking is more inclusive. #BringBackMasks
@0_teacherman@ccleighton Sounds like you are comfortable with the death of many for whatever nonsense you try to justify. I guess that is what happens when one doesn’t have a moral compass.
@ccleighton My 15 yo daughter, liver transplant recipient, was the only student in her classes yesterday wearing a mask. It is unfair, unjust and inequitable the disproportionate health risks she is forced to tolerate compared to her classmates in order to satisfy her right to go to school.
By reducing preventative measures (ie removal of 5-day isolation), vulnerable populations are challenged to participate in life. "Going to school shouldn't be a daily life-threatening experience", 15 yo transplant recipient & my daughter. @ford@Sflecce@HumanOnt@SCDSB_Schools
SickKids continues to maintain COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory masking. Before coming to SickKids, parents or caregivers must wait at least 10 days after a positive test, onset of symptoms or close contact with someone who has COVID-19. Thanks for your co-operation.
I'm sorry but if you don't have a campus mask mandate I can't take your "commitments" to equity, inclusivity, accessibility, or justice seriously. Without mandated covid protections, classrooms become risky settings that contribute to the inequitable impacts of the pandemic.
COVID-19: Masks mandates reduced Alberta school outbreaks by 68%
In Feb 2022 Alberta was given data that schools are hubs of COVID-19 infections, cases are spread from schools to community and increased risk of children hospitalization each wave ( https://t.co/WohPPnVRHe ). 🧵1/
I have little tolerance for disruptions to my kids' learning, which is why I advocate for #SafeSchoolsON and urge @fordnation and @sflecce to follow the science and use all available tools to ensure safe, uninterrupted, in-person learning #SafeSeptember#onted

As part of a part of a transplant group in Ontario, we want healthier and safer public indoor settings for everyone, including vulnerable populations. Our leaders need to consider us in health polices and promotion. Thank you!
A group of concerned individuals, composed primarily of physicians, have come together to request the Ontario Government reinstate masking mandates for all healthcare settings at a provincial level. If you support this idea, please retweet. https://t.co/8ugbnGXWT0
With the summer about half over and not much being said by any government official I'm offering up this advice to the government. Again, if anyone would like to become a co-signatory to this letter DM me and I'll happily add your name.

Research and community engagement can be powerful tools for advocacy! The ATI has been proud to support this big step forward for organ donation for Albertans.

GOOD MORNING to all of you who continue to wear a mask in indoor public spaces. I see you and I appreciate you.
Thank you for protecting our elders, our little ones and our most vulnerable. Seeing your masked faces gives me hope in humanity 🙏🏽
