Don’t want to hear the “moral victory” and “fought to the end” shit
This is a team full of seniors and built to win THIS YEAR and they still can’t finish a big game in a whiteout against a first year starting QB
You can’t expect to play ZERO offense for 50 minutes and win
Jalen Hurts with the surprise appearance on a Jordan Davis interview.
Hurts: “When I saw you and Jalen Carter lined up together, I said, ‘Them Georgia boys about to make a play.’”
That’s exactly why @KirkHerbstreit is so great at his job. He just got genuinely jacked up bc of a great open field tackle. You could drop him into any booth of any random teams and he will call a great game.
Just rode the elevator up to the press box at Arrowhead with a bunch of Chiefs fans. An older couple wearing Dejean jerseys gets in and someone makes a joke about not letting Eagles fans on.
Turns out they’re Cooper Dejean’s grandparents and they go “well our grandson DID intercept Mahomes in the Super Bowl.” 😂
Stone cold loser stuff from the Phillies, starting with the manager, mid-summer.
Textbook case for how NOT to manage a team with a big divisional lead. So obviously wrongheaded that you were gaslit into thinking it made sense.
“Health is most important.”
So you don’t pinch hit Bryce Harper in a big moment on his rest day.
So you don’t pinch hit JT Realmuto on his rest days.
So you don’t try for the #1 seed even though you have the best home field advantage in baseball.
The antithesis of one-game-at-time. With questionable decision making along the way.
Team played entitled for three months, turned it on for two weeks when the division got slightly less certain, and then coasted to the finish line.
All the while, bad habits crept in, team lost their edge, and played “situational baseball” for a grand total of 3 games in September to show they ostensibly still could.
“LOOK LOOK, we made Johan bunt. TWICE!”
“Trea Turner stole a base!”
Now you’re facing the multiverse version of yourself from 2022, and players have no idea how to compete.
The bullpen looks like they’ve never seen a one run game.
The hitters have just THE WORST at bats.
They can’t run the bases.
And somehow Austin Hays is on the TV screen.
This isn’t MLB’s fault. The Phillies have been unserious for months, and now they need to find the switch and flip it, or the most disappointing season since… the Eagles last year… is upon us.
The thing with Castellanos is that when he's off, he looks so bad doing it that you wonder if he even should be on an MLB team. And then when he's on, he's not just good, he looks like one of the five best players in baseball.
And sometimes you get both versions in the same game
@AmandaMGoetz I’d say about 15%. ONLY because I think a lot of the issues that are had within our dept could be solved with in person meetings, rather than Teams.
Phillies fans, it could be worse.
The Mets won Monday's game with a walkoff HR off former Phillie Seranthony Dominguez.
The Mets tied today's game with a HR off Craig Kimbrel.
The Mets won today's with a walkoff HR off Dominguez.
It’s just the tough reality that the Phillies are going to play ugly baseball for the next few weeks.
You’re without the MVP, arguably the best catcher in the entire sport, and your best home run hitter. You’re not going to play good baseball when that happens.
No, it doesn’t mean the Phillies are a bad baseball team because they lose a series to the Marlins. Stop overreacting for no reason.
