The Arctic (north of the 80th parallel) actually had its coldest June on record (since 1958) according to data from the Danish Meteorological institute (DMI). June averaged 2.20°C below the 1958−2002 average.

I don’t know anyone who denies that the climate changes.

Dr. Wielicki certainly doesn’t.

Like me, Matthew has discussed glacial cycles, the Medieval Warm Period, and the Little Ice Age, among other examples of natural climate change. Neither of us deny that mankind has also contributed to recent warming. What he questions is the extent to which emissions have been a contributor.

And while Dr, Wielicki isn’t a so-called “climate scientist” nor has he ever claimed to be one, the former head of the U.S. Global Change Research Program, Dr. Michael Kuperberg, wasn’t one either. In fact, he was a biologist. Where was your outrage about qualifications then?

I, however, am a degreed meteorologist, and I know Wielicki quite well. He is more than qualified for this position.

New lab research shows the climate sensitivity to a 400x CO2 increase is 0.1°C.

"Slight warming of the air is also observed with [100,000 ppm] CO2 but is close to the temperature resolution of the sensors with ±0.1°C. Given an approximately 400 times lower CO2 concentration in the atmosphere, this warming is likely negligible."

A lab experiment assessing convective vs. radiative heat transfer effects with test gases shows the addition of 100,000 ppm (10%) CO2 - a volume orders of magnitude greater than today's 425 ppm (0.0425%) - leads to a temperature change of about 1.0°C.

(Interestingly, the experiment shows this magnitude of temperature change can also be accomplished by adding argon (Ar), a non-greenhouse gas, and hydrocarbon gas (HCG), a propane/isobutane mixture.)

But this CO2-induced (or Ar or HCG) temperature change (~1.0°C) is accomplished when assessing only radiation heat transfer effects and excluding the effects of convection. In the real world, heat is not transferred solely via radiation. Convection, not radiation, dominates the heat transfer process here at the surface and throughout the lower troposphere.

So when convection is included as a contributing factor in these lab experiments (see also Wagoner et al., 2010 or Seim & Olsen, 2020), the temperature effect of adding 10% CO2 is reduced to just 0.1°C. This temperature change is so negligible that it is effectively below the resolution of the measurement sensors.

The real-world atmosphere has convective heat transfer dominating and 100s of times smaller CO2 concentrations than in this lab experiment. Thus, it can be concluded that the climate sensitivity to even a massive CO2 increase is effectively zero.

The ever-expanding network of Flock and other AI-powered surveillance cameras is not being rolled out to "reduce crime" or "keep you safe". That's just the sales pitch.

What's actually being built is a system capable of placing the entire population under permanent automated surveillance.

You don't have to commit a crime. Your movements are collected first, stored in a permanent database, and potentially investigated later.

Where you work. Where your children go to school. Which political meetings you frequent. Which protests you attend. Where you spend your weekends. Which journeys form your daily routine.

"Catching the bad guys" provides the emotional justification. Recording the journeys of the entire population is the reality.

And once the machinery exists, the definition of who or what deserves to be monitored can be changed at the click of a button.

Today it's violent criminals and stolen vehicles. Tomorrow it's whistleblowers, investigative journalists, peaceful protesters and government critics. The uses of mass surveillance infrastructure never remain limited to the justifications used to install it.

Once millions of these cameras have been merged into a vast centralised surveillance grid, the authorities no longer need to physically follow you. They can simply enter your registration number and reconstruct a detailed map of your life from a database.

AI-powered surveillance cameras are not making communities safer. They are building a digital trail of everyone's movements—one licence plate at a time.

Because a population that can move freely and anonymously is difficult to control. A population whose every journey can be retrieved and retraced at will is not.

And they're basically saying that their encampments are their Private property. Police can't enter, and they sued the police more than any other organization”
