Check out the incredible final moments of Praggnanandhaa taking down World no.1 Magnus Carlsen with the Black pieces in Round 8 of Norway Chess 2026!
With this win, Pragg becomes the first Indian (and possibly in the world) player who defeated Magnus Carlsen in Classical Chess twice in the same tournament! What a moment for Indian Chess.
it's official. Anthropic pulled the plug on ALL programmatic use of claude subscription
i've found myself increasingly bullish about OpenAI
a few key reasons -
1. Anthropic's only lead was on coding, and gpt 5.5 has flipped that already. coding with gpt 5.5 fast mode is an experience nothing else can match right now
2. OpenAI has voice, image, video - when building my AI tutor app, it became very clear OpenAI was the ONLY viable platform choice
3. it took an Anthropic to see the "Open"-ness of OpenAI. Anthropic is destroying its developer ecosystem with changes like this which tells their subscribers they can't use the best apps out there on Anthropic's models - they can only use Anthropic's apps. Codex on the other hand remained an open platform for developers to build on
not just trying to dunk on Anthropic - i genuinely hope they change their strategy and recognize that the world needs them to focus on making better, faster, and cheaper models, not locking everyone into their apps
I was laid off from Coinbase today.
I was on one of the many non-technical teams responsible for shipping code to production.
I'm currently looking for new opportunities at companies that allow non-technical teams to ship code straight to production.
If your company conducts non-technical interviews please feel free to refer me.
Like @davidbessis and others, I think that Hinton is wrong. To explain why, let me tell you a brief story.
About a decade ago, in 2017, I developed an automated theorem-proving framework that was ultimately integrated into Mathematica (see: https://t.co/nGCIUk44TP) (1/15)
Not only is claude code faster today, I'm happy to see it's starting to see the light . It said to me "Let me revert my over-engineering" when questioned on certain design choices.
