The future of work is fast calling for the bridging of the digital gap especially in our nation.
Over the next 45 days, we will be engaging unserved and underserved schools across Buganda, Busoga, Bukedi, Bugisu and Teso, equipping young learners with essential digital skills for the future of work, innovation and entrepreneurship.
In partnership with @UNDPUganda, @OticFoundation and @RefactoryAcademy, we will be taking AI awareness directly to underserved and unserved schools across Central & Eastern Uganda.
ASIST is proud to implement IgniteAI: Skills4theAIEra - a @UNDPUganda initiative designed to equip young learners in these sub-regions with the essential knowledge and competencies to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.
Through this partnership, we are actively expanding access to AI literacy and foundational digital skills for government owned and government aided primary and secondary school learners, especially girls and learners with special needs. By empowering these bright minds today, we are equipping the next generation of Ugandans that will drive the future of work, local innovation, problem solving and entrepreneurship.
No student left behind. No community skipped. Just real access, real exposure, and real hands-on AI skills for young Ugandans who've never had this chance before.

WHEN AI AND THE GREEN EVIRONMENT MIX UNDER THE TREES: A VISIT TO ST. KIZITO SS, MITYANA
Straight from St. Elizabeth SS, on Friday, July 10, 2026, our team moved to St. Kizito SS in the afternoon, continuing the mission of #IgniteAISkills. Over 300 students got hands-on with AI; from understanding how algorithms actually work, to building their very first mini AI-powered projects.
But what made St. Kizito different was where it happened. Rather than crowd into classrooms, many students chose to sit and learn under the tree shades on campus; laptops open, code running, canopy overhead. When AI and a green environment converge in one learning space, it's a small but powerful reminder: the future of our planet can be bright, built by young minds who innovate without losing their connection to nature.
The excitement on their faces said it all. These are students from underserved communities who, until today, may never have imagined AI could be part of their world; thanks to @UNDPUganda. Now, they didn't just learn about it, they actively shaped what it can do for their own futures, inspired by their own patron saint, Kizito, the youngest of the 22 Catholic #UgandaMartyrs.
The mission is clear: no student left behind in the AI era!

DAY 1: THE JOURNEY BEGINS: St. Elizabeth SS, Girls’ School - Mityana!

On Friday July 10, our teams kicked off #IgniteAISkills at St. Elizabeth SS, @StMityanaana in Mityana District and the energy in the room holding 300 learners was electric. For many of these students, this was their very first real encounter with Artificial Intelligence; not as an abstract buzzword, but as something they could touch, explore, and build with their own hands.
From curious questions to hands-on mini projects, we watched young minds start to see themselves differently; not just as future job seekers, but as future innovators and creators of technology. Speaking of Muhammad Nsereko, there's this new documentary from Endevr about the OneCoin scam where millions around the world lost hundreds of millions of dollars to Dr Ruja Ignatova who is now wanted by the FBI with a bounty of $ 5 million on her head.

A part of the documentary [video below] is about Uganda & how poor Ugandans lost money. Guess who publicly promoted the scam on stage when it came to Uganda?
