Very nice! I worked on something similar, just for spherical โplantsโ in an ecosystem. Never really took it much further, as it didnโt scale very well, but it was fun. I wanted to turn it into a compute shader and a better sun ray obstruction mechanism than ray casts ๐ฑ

@jonringer117@Mic_92 I was testing setting up my env with Nix last year, but got frustrated as a Nushell user that Bash was so tightly coupled to Nix.
I later learned about Nuenv, and apparently https://t.co/Jd0Gm7R0jW has revived it but I haven't tested. Would be cool to see more Nushell in Nix!
jj is awesome! It has completely replace git for me :) And I didn't know until now you are building your own jj-remote, but I'd love to try it!
Feature request for game dev:
An issue I encounter a lot is wanting to avoid unoptimized game assets in my repo history, like textures, models and sound. I don't always have time to optimize them, but I still want them in my jj history, so I spend time optimizing away a few MB so they don't bloat the repo. It would be a great to have a jj setup with a remote that can serve a limited slice of the history, so I don't need to download the entire history of assets locally to get started, but can still go back in history and have those assets served on demand.
@SebAaltonen I like the "no" prefix. It's already a strong brand.
> no_gpu, no_api, NoGL, no_gfx.
Alternatively someting with "bindless"
> bindlessGL, bindlessGPU, etc

This concludes my single week prototype. It was a blast! I really enjoyed doing it.
Prototyping continues on Christmas vacation:
- 2nd week = full 3d voxel system
- 3rd week = 10,000 player multiplayer
