MASS GRAVES OF SUDANESE VICTIMS OF UAE-BACKED RSF MILITIA

"This is a war between the [UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces] militia and the [Sudanese] citizen. The UAE chose to violate and exterminate the Sudanese people," said UK-based Sudanese activist Ali4Travel as he recorded a moving video where he visited the mass graves in the city of Al-Hilaliya in central Sudan’s Al-Jazira State. 

Walking among the rows of graves, where multiple victims, including entire families, mothers, and children, are buried together out of sheer necessity, the activist recounted local testimonies of families wiped out in single days.

Noting how the RSF wages its war on non-combatants, he said: "all of them were innocent civilians living in this area who did not have a relationship with the army or the government, nor the [former ruling Islamist party]".

In late 2024, Al-Hilaliya became the epicentre of brutal massacres carried out by the RSF across eastern Al-Jazira State following the defection of commander Abu 'Agla Keikel to the Sudanese army.

In Al-Hilaliya alone, over 500 civilians were reportedly k*lled.

However, as noted by the activist, Al-Hilaliya is not alone, with various localities across Sudan being systematically wiped out by the UAE-backed militia.

While the RSF's atrocities in central Sudan did not generate much attention in the mainstream western media, similar actions perpetrated by the militia in western Sudan a year later did.

In October 2025, the RSF launched a wave of massacres in North Darfur's state capital of Al-Fashir that UN investigators went on to describe as g*nocidal. 

From Darfur to Al-Jazira, these coordinated assaults are designed to depopulate towns, destroy civilian infrastructure, and displace millions.

According to the activist, the UAE does this "so that it can seize our land and properties and resources".

Nonetheless, despite evidence of these atrocities and the Emirati funding behind them, western powers are still unwilling to criticise the UAE for the actions of its proxy militia.

In Qusra, southeast of the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, three P*lestinian families say they are effectively besieged in their own homes as Isr*eli settler attacks intensify around them. The siege, which began on August 9, has seen settlers erect a tent for surveillance, block access roads with stones and earth mounds, and cut water and electricity to the homes for eight days. About 15 people, including two children, have been trapped in severe isolation, with acute shortages of medicine and food. The Isr*eli army declared the area a closed military zone but has largely failed to remove the settlers, who continue to roam the area daily to intimidate residents.

Facing repeated violence and growing pressure to leave, the families remain determined to hold onto their homes and land. The standoff has drawn international attention, particularly as one of the homeowners is a P*lestinian-American citizen, Loui Ridi, who traveled from Ohio to defend his property. A UNICEF team managed to deliver limited aid, but the army prevented a water tanker from reaching the families.

But residents of Qusra say the pressure goes beyond individual homes. The mountain where the homes sit is strategically vital, as it provides the community's only remaining access point to their land. P*lestinians fear these attacks are part of a wider effort to push them from their land, as settler violence and land seizures have surged across the West Bank.

ACLED records over 80 settler incidents in Qusra since the start of 2026, making it one of the three locations most affected by settler violence. The New Arab reports that even after the army intervened, displaced families worry the military presence could make their displacement permanent. Despite the escalating violence, residents insist they will continue to resist displacement and remain in Qusra.
